Default Anybody ever played "WWE Legends of Wrestlemania"?

I'm a wrestling game fan (got all of the Smackdown vs. Raw's) and saw this on sale for £8 - is it worth it?

It hasn't been out that long so I'm wondering why it's so cheap? Is it a bad game or?

It came out March last year. I'm shocked at the price because last year's Smackdown vs Raw was £20 and this was £8...

I thought it must be pre-owned or something but it wasn't, brand new sealed.

Looking at screenshots it looks just as good as the main games so there must be something naff control-wise or something. Graphics look brilliant and me being a 90's WWF fan the characters are awesome (it has almost 40 80's and 90's 'legends' and managers like Bobby Heenan, Mr. Fuji etc).

I might get it, I just wanted to see if anyone had an opinion on it here.

I don't think it got very good reviews when it came out if I remember correctly, so maybe that's why the price has been slashed... but you can't really go wrong for £8!

Yeah I think I'll get it tbh. It's a good bargain.

Here's the website for the game with pictures, videos, roster etc.

UPDATE: I bought the game and I've got to say it's a bargain!

Ok so here's my take on it. It takes a while to get used to but it's really enjoyable.

It has over 40-odd wrestlers from the 80's and 90's (from Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka and Yokozuna to Kamala and classic Undertaker and Hunter Hearst Helmsley) as well as tag teams like The Road Warriors and The Hart Foundation. Also you can import the whole male roster from WWE SD! vs Raw 2009 onto the game to have current vs. legend matches. Also, something which I think is brilliant, the 4 managers (Mr. Fuji, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, Jimmy Hart and Paul Bearer) all interact with the matches and all have their own 'manager finishers' like for example, Paul Bearer can bash you with the urn or Mr Fuji throws that chalk dust in your face).

The character models are really spot-on although made to look a little exaggerated than the real-life counterparts (more muscle mass etc) with each wrestler having their own unique entrances, music and videos as well as finishers (just like any other WWE game nowadays).

It has classic cage-look matches, Hell In A Cell, Royal Rumble and Ladder to name a few and has every Wrestlemania arena from Wrestlemania I in 1985 to Wrestlemania XV in 1999.

The thing which I feel let it down with critics is the control system. It is NOT like SDvsR at all with it being more arcade-based. Button mashing and matching on-screen sequences with "chain moves" are regular but the overall performance of the game is excellent imo.

I think if you didn't start watching WWE until the 2000's then this game isn't for you, but for the nostalgia factor and for a classic arcade-style game. I love it and can't believe it was such a bargain!

It's basically WWE SD vs Raw 2009 with a simpler control system.

I thought it was a bit crap tbh. Control system was too simple.

^ It reminds me of the old WWF games before the SD! series.

Also - the Wrestlemania Tour mode I love! You compete in matches that actually happened and complete goals to recreate moments within those matches.

Like HBK vs. Austin at WM 1998 - one goal is to get smashed into the drumkit near the entrance ramp (which happened at the actual match).

That sounds quite good tbh. I only played the demo. From what I remember the camera angle was a bit weird too? Wrestling games aren't anywhere near as good as the old ones. Smackdown 2 was amazing. Brilliant career mode and you go backstage and even outside into a bar

WWE games are awful ( and I'ma wwe fan)

The game is already out of date when its released, there are more wrestlers on there that have been released then are still there, and they dont have about 5-10 wrestlers that are on there now (well, 20+ if you count the new ones)

The story mode has gone, now its only Road to Wrestlemania who you can only do with like 2 wrestlers, and the Career mode is just winning belts
