Default Galloway racist

Once again the housemates have issues with race. George stated that because Dennis was black he gets away with things he does. Totally out of order.

I personally agree (with George). People have given Dennis extra space to do his aggressive abusive talk and aggressive body language crap. Remember how nuts they went on Johnny? (the fireman) for saying "6 f'ing times" (he was nominated 6 times). Well shouldnt everybody be falling over themselves to evict Dennis? YES, but why not? Well is it because he's an American and a guest to this country, or because of his colour? (color) or both... I feel this thread will probably be closed but there you go, I tend to agree with George on this and I'm not racist at all.

I can't see what Jonny has got to do with this - it was a totally different set of housemates! I think they have let Dennis get away with a lot, but I honestly don't think it's because of his colour. I think people have just been trying not to cause more arguments than necessary.

I don't think George is rascist , but feel the way he explains his thoughts on the issue , are really awkward for a man of his (supposed) intelligence.

Let me explain, Johnny showed some aggressiveness and anger at being nominated, he went a tiny bit mental and they all turned on him as a consequence. Now if we look at Dennis and take his 100's of outbursts and stand it next to Johnny's once..and the housemates reaction to both culprits, we can see that people are giving Dennis a huge break. If you can't see the similarities, it might be worth me pointing out to you that the housemates in each Big Brother game are human beings. (we think). Get it now?

Ooh, no need for sarcasm - I got your point in the first place. I just didn't agree that the reason that they had let Dennis get away with things was because he is black.

Plus, I really can't recall that Dennis has had "100's of outbursts" and he certainly didn't erupt and go a "tiny bit mental" about being nominated - not that I saw anyway.

Some people would say Dennis is permanently "mental". The rest of the housemates have been very patient with him.

Where are these people who say that Dennis is permanently "mental" (and what a horrible term that is) cos I wanna ask them what the hell he has done to suggest that he is "mental"?

Yeah, he's gruff, grumpy, short with people, uses a lot of swear language (why are we allowed to hear him say *******er but when he sticks "mutha" in front of it, he gets beeped!) and maybe isn't the most warm or endearing guy in the world. But is that down to his race?? I can show you plenty of people who have the same personality traits regardless of colour. Galloway's assumption is that he gets away with it cos he's black. I hate to see people assuming something about another person just cos of their skin colour. Galloway's suggestion is that people think to themselves "Oh, I should really say something to Dennis about X, but I won't cos he's black" Absolute nonsense.

Look at Dennis Rodman. He's bleedin massive, isn't it possible that he gets away with things in the house cos of his sheer physical size. Or isn't it possible he gets away with things in the house cos he clearly doesn't seem to give a **** and why would anyone start an argument with him. Why the hell is the automatic assumption is that it's cos he's black?? Hell, Pete gets away with plenty of nastiness to people and very few in the house have called him on it. Is it cos he is white?

That is something I was asking myself just yesterday. I find that very odd indeed.

He is more than white. Pete makes me look tanned, and I have traditional Scottish Translucent skin! Pete is porcelain.

I don't think it's anything to do with colour we all react differently to peoples comments and actions. Body language has a lot to do with it. it also can depend on regard for that person either through reputation or connection.

As for Dennis being mental I think that is a pretty unfair comment and what do you mean by mental - He has a history of mental health or has a mental disorder?

Not to mention of course, that if they were letting Dennis get away with stuff because he's black - and as I've already said, I really do not think that this is the case - then they would still be discriminating on the basis of his skin colour.

But I really don't want to go on about the race issue, because I just don't think that it is an issue in this case.

I personally feel that African Americans are given special treatment. I also think that Dennis is way over the top, all the time. That's not racist of me, it's my observation.

Over the top, rather than mental then. But good point, perhaps Dennis is mentally ill.

The tone of his voice and the constant use of swear words.

I won't be swung round to ever like Dennis unfortunately, he's too old fashioned with his attitude to women.

George and Pete are defineitely the two racists.

Pete's comments about Traci's "sort" and "Culture" were bang out of line

Just from the title. How is he racist? He is probably the least racist politician, he stands up for ethnic people, the only MP to do so. I'm sorry but that totally isn't right!

He discriminates based on people's colour - he said that Dennis has got away with stuff because he's black. While I don't think that this is the case at all, if George is saying that he would treat someone differently because that person is black, he is being racist. Call it positive discrimination if you want - it's still discrimination.

If you haven't been watching it, you can't say that people are wrong can you? Try watching it before making judgements.

I think that George is thoughtless in what he say, NOT racist. When he referred to Dennis getting away with things because he was black! well I think if you inserted words here it would be " Dennis gets away with things because he is pretty scary and I aint going to challenge him"
