Thanks James, I'll add it to my list of stuff to watch after BB. I'll probably d/l it though. I'm not too fond of watching films on youtube.

I actually agree. Far more faithful to Tolkiens novel and it's a pity that they ran out of money and the backing of the financers. Sure Peter Jackson stole quite a few of the shots! It's quite obvious, right?

It feels more like the novel too, you know what I mean?

Well, just watch the first part on Youtube and you'll know if it's worth downloading or not. And you're welcome darling.

I wished for years they would complete that movie. I read the tolkien books in the early 80s, and for me the figures of the animated movie fit perfect to what I had in mind while reading it, the blockbuster movies really disappointed me, even if they where really well done.

And I bet he stole some of that movie, it was quite unknown anyway, so I guess he thought nobody will notice anyway.

I even still have the Soundtrack of that Movie on vinyl

Oh, he definitely stole scenes - it's quite clear. And yes, the mood created in the cartoon is exactly the same as I felt while reading the novel. The movies are blockbusters, nothing more. They don't have the heart or the atmosphere, even though I still quite like them.

That animation movie was a real piece of art

Yep, I think so too. Just such a pity that they ran out of money and the last act was so hurried.

Actually just watched The Fellowship of the Ring for the first time in years just before, weird that people are talking about LOTR in this thread.

Anyway:

American Psycho
The Departed
The Godfather trilogy
Carlito's Way
Scent of a Woman

Don't like the Departed, and American Psycho is a once only view, but apart from those two the others are well worth watching again.

I took the picture a minute ago

The movie is easy to get, the record could be rare, but not valuable I guess

There was a two year period there where I would watch Mean Girls at least once a month.

Other than that:

The Scream Trilogy
Girl, Interrupted
Almost Famous
Heathers
Love, Actually
The Shawshank Redemption
Donnie Darko
