The so-called 'deadwoods'

I've noticed that the following 4 housemates are frequently described by forum members as 'deadwood':

Andrew, Steve, Mario, Dave.

Ok, the first 3 - yes.

But Dave? Definitely not. How is Dave deadwood? Whether you like him or not, Dave has given many of us lots to talk about. A 'deadwood' wouldn't do that!
