was this when john james was in the diary room saying he wanted to leave?
is this to stop john james walking out?
is it to calm his nerves about nathan decking him.

I feel the same,BUT probably better he has stayed he can now have a PROPER eviction,so we can let him know just how we feel about him,every cloud has a silver lining

I have to agree with you. I am gobsmacked that BB allowed John James to speak to Nathan on the phone - a special arrangement. BB have flouted their own rules big time. JJ1 must have been very adamant that he wanted to leave so to appease him and assure him that Nathan was ok with him, they allowed Nathan to speak to him. Why not let the other walkers have a phone call to assure them they were doing just fine and to stay in the house. I'm really peed off with BB.

They don't give a sh!t, it's the last series and they are deperate to keep him in - they should also give him a gold pass to the final because they will probably put him in to keep the Thumbsucker company!

Correct. Don't you (us) feel absolutely helpless that no matter what John James does (and he has done a lot of nasty vile things) that BB tends to his needs for the sake of keeping up the shambles of a so-called romance. Probably just as well it is hte final BB.
