Big Brother evictee George Galloway may be watching his celebrity status wane after selling just a few dozen tickets for his one-man show next month, it has emerged.
More than 800 tickets are thought to remain unsold for the event at the 925-seat Deco theatre in Northampton on February 25. Now the controversial Respect Party MP is facing a far from full house for the question-and-answer evening which promises "the true story of his life". The nine-date tour, covering Cambridge, Southampton and Halifax, promises the chance to "meet the real MP and not the fictional media version". But local reports claim just 34 of the £12 tickets had been sold in Northampton, with a further 80 on reserve. A Deco spokeswoman refused to confirm the actual ticket sales for the show but said numbers were disappointing. She said: "The response to his appearance on Celebrity Big Brother has been mixed but it has brought a lot of publicity for him. "We are disappointed with the sales for George Galloway's show so far. We are still hopeful of selling more tickets for the show over the next few weeks. A Radio 1 text message poll of more than 21,000 people found 92.5% said they hated the Scot during his time in the Celebrity Big Brother house. Just just 7.5% said they loved him. Galloway was evicted on Wednesday night from the Channel 4 reality show, during which he hit the headlines for a number of bizarre antics including pretending to be a cat and dancing around the house in a red leotard. He was the first of two evictions on Wednesday, receiving 64.7% of the public vote. Former US basketball star Dennis Rodman was also booted out. |

If he was that unpopular, he wouldn't have been elected as an independent MP.

Alot of his votes were from ethnic minorities, as a big part of his campaign, was for ethnic minority rights, etc etc. |

I agree with Azzy - he just went for the one thing that he knew would win him the votes as MP. He may be popular amongst his constituents (some of them) but all he did was target a certain audience - and it worked for him.
