Default Celebrity Big Brother - Full Details

The door has slammed shut on another eventful Celebrity Big Brother, and what a series it has been. Not only did the public crown a non-celebrity the winner of the Celebrity Big Brother but over the past 23 days, the series has been jam-packed filled with many memorable moments that have kept viewers on the edge of their seats day after day. This year’s eleven housemates have entertained the masses with secrets, lies, big lips, a fake pop star, powerful pants, a cat…and some leotards, rule breaking, laughs, flirtations, arguments, public nominations, a prize winning performance on Richard & Judy’s ‘You say We Pay’, a cameo role for Newsnight’s Jeremy Paxman and of course, some very special wishes granted by the one and only Sir Jimmy Saville… the list goes on and on…

Throughout the series, E4 and Channel 4 viewers have been voting in their millions to decide who remained in the house and who was evicted, culminating in CHANTELLE being crowned the winner. Last night, Davina McCall announced that CHANTELLE – the only non-celebrity when she entered the house - was the winner with a total of 56.4% of the public vote.

A total of approximately £480,000 has been raised for charity – from a total of approximately 3 MILLION votes over the 23 day run. Viewers voted via telephone and text message with a percentage of money raised from the votes going to charity. Each eviction vote cost 50p, with 16p per vote being donated to a group of charities chosen by the celebrities. Prior to entering the house, each housemate nominated a charity to support and the total money raised via voting revenue will be split equally. This means each housemate has raised an equal amount of money for their chosen charity, regardless of where they finished in the competition.

Sharon Powers, Executive Producer, Celebrity Big Brother 4 said: “This series has had everything - moments of jaw-dropping amazement, moments where you wanted to scream at the television, moments of high drama and utter hilarity. All that and Barrymore’s tears and of course, George Galloway…what more can I say?”

Angela Jain, Commissioning Editor, Channel 4 added: “This year's Celebrity Big Brother has been a triumph. It’s reached out to people who would never have watched it before. We're delighted that so many people have tuned in and that it has provoked wide-ranging comment, debate and controversy.”

Tonight, Celebrity Big Brother ended to the soundtrack of the Thirteen Senses track, Into The Fire, but before turning the final page of the Celebrity Big Brother 4 history book is turned, take a moment to remember the stars who made this series so memorable and the moments that everyone talked about …

The Celebrity Big Brother 4 famous faces making headlines throughout January were:

She has since been the darling of the British tabloids, usually wearing risqué outfits and telling stories of her racy private life. Jodie is now a regular fixture in newspapers and magazines, and is Zoo magazine’s current ‘sexpert’. She has been linked to Westlife star Kian Egan, Calum Best, and Celebrity Big Brother 2005 runner-up Kenzie. She admits to being very competitive, especially when it comes to fellow glamour girls such as Jordan and Abi Titmuss. Jodie says her ideal date would be Robbie Williams, motorcycle racer Valentino Rossi or Eminem. Due to her experiences of bullying as a teenager, Jodie is a vociferous anti-bullying campaigner. “I want to be a voice for bullied kids," she insists. "I want to say to them: 'You don't have to be a victim.'”

Jodie has commented that, “I am hoping there are fit men in the house.” In contrast, she would “hate to be in there with any of my ex-boyfriends. The worst person would be Peter Andre because I can’t bear his Mrs.”

George is a keen footballer and snooker player. He is offended by drunkenness, bad manners, bigotry and ignorance. He says his most unappealing habits are smoking his favourite Cuban cigars and snoring. His dream date is Julia Roberts. Pete shocked audiences in the 1980s with his flamboyant dress sense including skirts, stockings, high-heels, corsets, exotic hairstyles and make-up. Having surfaced initially in 1977 with The Mystery Girls and later proto-Goth rockers Nightmares in Wax, he then went on to form Dead or Alive. They hit the big time in 1985 when 'You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)' reached No1, taking 15 weeks to get there. It was the first number one for über producers Stock, Aitken and Waterman. A self-confessed diva with rooms full of Vivienne Westwood outfits, Pete counts Jackie Stallone and Madonna among his idols. He has had extensive cosmetic surgery, explaining, “If you own a car, you change that every few years, and that's just what I'm doing with my appearance.”
Pete has only recently signed the divorce papers for his marriage to his wife of twenty years, Lynne who he met when he was a teenager. They remain the best of friends.

After a bright start at school, he dropped out of university to form The Ordinary Boys with three friends from his native Worthing. They burst onto the music scene nearly two years ago with “Maybe Someday”, and their debut album went gold in the UK in 2004. The band has recently finished supporting Paul Weller on tour. Preston has strong views on politics, and hates bullies and smallmindedness. He claims to have been practicing for the Celebrity Big Brother experience for years by “sitting in the back of a transit van…doing absolutely nothing.” Preston is most looking forward to “being stuck in a bedroom with sexy girls,” expects to “go in there and be the voice of reason” and believes he is going to win.

Welsh rapper Maggot gained his interesting name as a teenager, when he donned a flesh-coloured puffa jacket that made him look like a giant maggot. He claims that “Maggot is a character that has been created by Goldie Lookin’ Chain, he’s the crafty character who sells sexy DVDs.” He started his working life in a Pot Noodle factory, before giving it all up after three months to form the eight man band Goldie Lookin‘ Chain with his friends Eggsy and Xain. The day they discovered they had been signed by their record label, they partied outside the Houses of Parliament with placards saying, “Free Terry Waite”, “Golf Sale” and “Weed has rights too.” The band has since gone on to achieve major success, performing with Super Furry Animals, The Streets and The Darkness. They famously got into hot water by dedicating their song “Your Missus is a Nutter” to David Beckham at the England v Wales World Cup qualifier. Maggot’s aims for the future are to “get into politics” and “to create more seating areas for….generally….everywhere.” He also claims that the “most rock n’ roll thing I’ve ever done is puke on a cat.”

A turbulent childhood propelled Michael towards the stage. He spent his early career working as a Red Coat at Butlins holiday camps for eight years. From this experience, Michael toured the UK with the Black and White Minstrels show, where he met his wife-to-be Cheryl. He soon landed a spot on the Russ Abbot Saturday Madhouse, and appearances on Little and Large and Blankety Blank quickly followed and in 1982 Michael was given his own series The Michael Barrymore Show. In 1983, he performed his famous dying swan act in Swan Lake at a Royal Variety Show and was signed for another series of his own show, confirming him as one of the country's most popular entertainers. In 1995, the tabloid press forced him to 'come out' and his marriage to Cheryl ended in divorce in 1997. In April 2001, the story broke that was to change Michael's life forever when he was questioned by police about his role in the death of Stuart Lubbock. Following a police investigation, Michael received a caution for possession and use of cannabis. No other charges were filed against him. Following the revelations, ITV terminated Michael's contract and his UK television career collapsed. Currently Michael has permanent residency in New Zealand where he lives with his long-term partner Shaun Davis and also where he has enjoyed success with his sell out live Laid Back tour. Michael is also involved with various charities and regularly attends fund-raising events.

Occupation: Model, Paris Hilton Lookalike, Office Temp
Lives: Essex

Best remembered for:
•Being the only non-celebrity in Celebrity Big Brother

Vegetarian Chantelle describes herself as a bright, blonde bimbo and self-proclaimed looker, 'I look like Paris Hilton, not on purpose but it's just the way it turned out. People are often jealous of my looks but that's their problem not mine.” Her love of shopping, lip-gloss and all things pink makes her one of the girls and her proudest moment was winning ‘Majorette of the Year’ when she was 10. She is definitely not an extrovert, but will be up for fun and antics if someone else starts it first.

Most subjects went over her head at school and she has little interest in the wider issues of the world. Chantelle lives for the weekend when she heads out drinking with her sole purpose to “mingle with the dingles”, shark fit blokes and pounce on them.

She has been employed as a Paris Hilton lookalike and also does promotions work at motor shows, which helps fund her passion for partying.

The hula-hoop is Chantelle’s only form of exercise, she fancies Jonny Wilkinson, gives herself 4./10 for intelligence and hates Prince Charles. She likes reading crime novels but hates anything to do with science fiction or fantasy as it doesn’t happen in real life, so doesn’t interest her. Chantelle says she wants to prove that people can be good looking and still be normal and down-to-earth. The cruellest thing someone has done to her is bought the same outfit and she finds that some people take an instant dislike to her which she thinks is because of the way she looks.
