James could probably send you your IP through the 'Admin CP'.
Just a thought. |

Yeah he could do. If he logs onto the admin panel he can check the IP you use when posting on the forum.
I know this probably won't help... but: -Start -Control Panel -Network Connections -Right click your network connection -Choose Properties -Scroll down to Internet Protocol (IP) ...There is stuff there about how you obtan your IP address but it's probably got nowt to do with your problem knowing me. ![]() Always worth a try... |

-Start
-Control Panel -Network Connections -Right click your network connection -Choose Properties Do all that then check 'Client for Microsoft Networks' and 'Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)' are in the list under 'This connection uses the following items:'. If they are not click 'Install' and install thoses under clients and protocols. Also it helps to install 'Qos Packet Scheduler' under services. It might be something else though, Have you gone to http://192.168.2.1 to login to the router control panel yet? You need to set something up in there. |

Thank you all very much for your help.
Tried what you suggested James nothing has helped though - wil just have to do without the router until I can get someone to look at the stupid thing. I am sure it is user error as opposed to machine error ![]() |

If you're trying to connect wirelessly instead of a cable you need to go into the router admin (http://192.168.2.1/ ) and set SSID and channel.
Then run the 'Wireless Network Setup Wizard' in Control Panel and use the same SSID. You also need to use the same security method and key if you set that up in the router. Also there are connection details you have to enter in the router admin panel - there's info on this page about what you enter for AOL: http://www.aol.co.uk/products/broadb...rking_faqs.adp If you have a firewall program disable that temporarily to see if that is stopping it working. What kind of router is it out of interest? |
