Default Pastor to condemn Sophie and Sian's relationship

Coronation Street characters Sian Powers (Sacha Parkinson) and Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent) are to be branded "sinful" by a local church leader.

The pastor, played by Chris Grahamson, will criticise the pair when he hears about their relationship and deems it to be unnatural, according to The People.

He will tell them: "God considers women who choose unnatural relationships over natural ones to be guilty of shameful lust. God puts temptation in our way to test us. But people like you who abandon God in deceit are sinful in his eyes."

Sian replies: "I thought we were all supposed to be equal in the eyes of God. If God truly believed what you are telling us, He obviously got it wrong. If He were around today He would be the first to admit it."

The minister's comments will apparently make Sophie doubt her relationship with Sian, especially when Emily Bishop (Eileen Derbyshire) refuses to back her up.
