BIG Brother sex swapper Nadia put on her old genes for a night down the pub—and was nicked for allegedly belting a BLOKE.

The Portuguese brunette turned man o' war and thumped a 24-year-old drinker after a row, cops were told.

Nadia Almada, 29, was bailed at a north London police station after being quizzed about the incident in a bar in Islington on Thursday.

Now pals are worried what effect it will have on the transsexual celeb who was in the Priory clinic six months ago suffering from depression.

A friend said: "Nadia has a fiery temper and has often had to face hostile people when she is out on the town.

"She's been trying to put her life back on track after a near nervous breakdown, so this is just another thing for her to worry about."

If charged with assault, Big Brother 5 winner Nadia could find herself facing a prison sentence or a hefty fine.

"We are worried about the effect this added stress will have on her," said the pal.

Suicidal

Last September Nadia confessed to the News of the World she hit the bottle after a split with her diamond dealer boyfriend and a disastrous appearance on Australian BB.

She lay in bed at her London home for two weeks on the verge of a nervous breakdown before pals persuaded her to go into the Priory. "I didn't want to live. I felt suicidal," she told us.

Last night a Scotland Yard spokesman said: "We can confirm that on February 16 a 29-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of common assault on a 24-year-old man in Islington.

"She has been bailed to return to a north London police station in early March."

There is only so much baiting that anyone can take before being forced into reacting. If this report is true, then Nadia must have been pushed, abused & humiliated beyond the point of being able to not respond. Reacting in a violent way is not acceptable, and Nadia may have to pay a legal price for doing so, but it is understandable in circumstances such as these.

As Nadia has no previous criminal record, she is extremely unlikely to face a prison sentence. Self-defence is no offence.

Big Brother winner Nadia in court for beating up a man

LIFE STYLE EXTRA (UK) - Transsexual Big Brother winner Nadia appeared in court today - for beating up a man in a pub.

The 29-year-old gender bender, full name Nadia Almada, spoke only to plead not guilty to a charge of common assault.

Wearing a black and white pencil skirt, a black shirt and black jacket, the blonde Big Brother 5 star looked visibly nervous as she entered the dock at Highbury Magistrates Court, north London.

It is alleged Almada slapped Richard Oliver, a jobless 24-year-old, at The Garden pub in Upper Street, Islington, on January 27 this year.

Defence solicitor Aki Achillea said: "We will call at least two witnesses. There is CCTV footage and also a considerable transcript from the police interview."

A trial will take place on June 19 and the Portuguese bank clerk, who won the C4 show in 2004, was granted unconditional bail. She faces up to six months in jail if found guilty.

Mr Achillea asked deputy district judge Alan Jones to make an order that her address not be made public because of "considerable interest" in the case.

You kinda feel sorry for Nadia in a way coz she had terrible depression after BB and had to check into the Priory rehab clinic.

Well yeah it isnt fair really, it always does happen to people from bb i guess and it isnt very nice. Things like this does happen every day and people obviously see somebody and go ooo they're from bb or such and such let's mug them. It isnt very nice
