Looks like a publicity stunt concocted for the first live show by Simon Cowell with the full co-operation of the media. They love a ridiculous controversy to kick off the series.Have'nt reporters got better things to do than ask her mother questions through a crack in the door on the 6 o clock news? No offence but if Gamu doesnt meet the criteraia why should she get preferrential treatment cos shes sang a few songs on a reality tv show? Would anyone give a toss if she was on a less high profile reality show? What a load of bollocks.

I wouldn't put it past them. The X-Factor feeds on controversy and so much of it is staged, it's hard to tell the fiction ends and the facts begin.
