What utter, utter rubbish. The only reason Katie isn't polling any votes is because no one is willing to give her a chance after the Gamu rubbish. It's laughable. It seems no one can get over the fact Gamu is gone...she's *****ed off, so it's time to start fresh. And that includes not having petty vendettas against other acts and their judges [i.e Cheryl and Katie]. At the end of the day, Katie's sing-off performance last night was not only far better than FYD's, but it was a very strong vocal performance...something which a lot of people have said she lacks.

And he's obviously not more entertaining/interesting than her otherwise people wouldn't be talking about Katie and would be talking about John, obviously. But that isn't the case. Katie's more noticed, and why? Because she's a marmite character and interesting...something which John isn't. What planet are you on, Jack? How exactly are "the petty Gamu fans" affecting Katie's lack of votes? Katie clearly just isn't appealing to the public. She gave a poor performance, had a song choice that did not fit her vocals at all and her outfit was the main talking point of the performance, and not in a positive way. She just came across as trying too hard to appear zany because she's not very good in the first place; that's why I believe she was in the bottom three. I'll be interested to see if she was 15th or 14th when they release the voting percentages at the end of the series; I get the impression Dannii and Louis put out F.Y.D under pressure from Simon to keep Katie for controversy. She'll probably be safe next week because there's always a spike in votes for someone who's been in the bottom two, especially in the early weeks (notable exception of Rachel Adedeji being in the bottom two in weeks 1 and 2; but then she came top of the voting in week 3 as a result of that) but I wouldn't expect her to make it beyond week 4 at best.

At the end of the day, John probably pulled in more votes because he came across as a very polite and caring person, and gave a flawless vocal. People like you are just mumbling about him being boring because he's not wearing plastic visors or making ridiculous facial expressions while he sings. I'd compare his personality to Leona - very humble and appealing; Katie comes across as a Rah girl with a very vapid sense of manners and a bit fake; without the talent to balance that.

I'm not saying she's 'appealing to the public', but the fact that she undeservedly received the brunt of the backlash following the fury over Cheryl's choices doesn't help matters, really. As I said...people just aren't willing to give her a chance. Threads and posts on this forum and other forums, and on Newspaper website comments sections before the Live Shows even started would tell you that. Throughout the last week I don't think I have seen a single comment anywhere from a Katie 'hater' that has said 'I'm willing to give her a chance...', instead it's just been endless comments of 'UGH hope she's out first week. I won't be voting. Stole Gamu's place' and more whining.

Whilst I admit the song choice on Saturday was pretty awful, and the performance wasn't great - there is no denying that her performance in the sing-off was far, far better than FYD's. How anyone could dispute that is just beyond me. Because that song did show off her vocal talent. That is a fact. She can sing. Hopefully she now won't be lumbered with such awful song choices, courtesy of Cheryl [because as far as I'm aware, the judge's chose the songs, don't they?], and is given the opportunity to show off her vocal talent [which we have already seen...it just seems some people are oblivious to it or are purposefully putting it over their heads]. And that 'opportunity' includes people still endlessly moaning about the Gamu incident. After her performance in the sing-off only, if you ask me, she deserves a chance. I don't expect her to do very well either, despite everything I've just said...because the majority of people will not give her a chance, as a result of the Gamu incident.

I very much doubt Dannii and Louis kept Katie for 'controversy' either, because as I've said, she was the better act in the sing-off.

And whilst John was admittedly good, I don't think he gave a 'flawless vocal' at all. His performances just aren't very memorable, really. I very much doubt the topic of conversation regarding X Factor across the country on Sunday and today was or will be 'wow, did you see that amazing performance John gave!'. Of course he'll have his fans, and I'm not saying that Katie will be a main topic of conversation either, because her performance on Saturday was average, but I think it's a lot more likely that she'll have been talked about than John, even if it was for what she was wearing, her so-called 'annoying' personality or her appearance in the Bottom Three on Sunday, and then her much, much better performance. As I've said before, she is a marmite character - John isn't. Marmite characters are people that divide opinion, and to divide opinion you've got to somehow draw attention to yourself...i.e be interesting/entertaining etc. If someone sparks a lot of discussion [Katie], then they are obviously interesting/intriguing/entertaining.

You could argue that Lady Gaga is the same...but we all now how popular she is. She is weird, quirky and different - and I really, really don't think it's her music that makes her so popular, really. It's her sense of style and how out-going she is.
