Jay-Z and Kanye West have announced plans to release a collaborative record.

West, who co-produced Jay-Z's The Blueprint in 2001, confirmed rumours that the pair will put out a full album instead of a shorter EP, which was suggested earlier this year.

"We're putting out a whole album now," he told MTV.

"We had done five songs so far, but then a few of them kind of were out there - and I put them on my album. Sorry, Jay!"

The 'Heartless' rapper also claimed that it wouldn't take long to complete the record, joking: "We'll probably be done with the album in like a day or whatever. If you think about it, it's really easy for Jay. He only has to think of, like, ten verses!

"We're going to the South of France at the end of this month just to record new ideas."

Earlier this week, West unveiled the full 35-minute clip for his new song 'Runaway'.
