Big Brother Uncut will not air in 2006 according to a press release posted on the Endemol Southern Star website yesterday.
The statement reads "due to the public's changing attitudes towards the show, Endemol Southern Star have decided to discontinue production of the 'Big Brother: Uncut' program". The backflip comes after the company already spent resources on hiring extra television censors for Uncut and putting the new housemates through sexual harassment classes. Earlier this year the Australian Communications and Media Authority found that Channel 10 had breached commercial television rating restrictions with three episodes of Uncut in 2005. Channel 10 announced they will replace Uncut with an in-depth biographical series about Gretel Killeen. The show will still be rated MA15+ because it contains medical procedures and some nudity. -------------------------------------------- That's bad news! |
