There's no point starting a thread in serious debates if you're not willing to "debate" it.

My opinion. I've put that across and now you're suggesting I shouldn't comment because I've never heard of her before.



Just a reason as to why she may be now referred to as Catherine. Surely that is what this thread is about? Or are you not happy if people don't agree with your side of it?

I take it by "very explainable" you mean something along the lines of a valid reason or a logical reason?

No Thomas its not, you said her "marital name", she doesnt have one yet, if she does get married to the prince her Marital name will be Windsor, but as she will be marrying into the throne she doesnt need to use a surname. They get to do that.

Thomas you initially said "It's the only reason I can think of as to why she would change her name or ...." She didnt change her name, Kerry's point was the press had started changing the way they refer to her.

Its extremely unlikely that she asked the press to start calling her by her full name now is it? Some quarters of the media would just laugh at that wouldnt they?

You've just explained it better, but the bit in bold is what I was getting at so it would make perfect sense with the announcement of the engagement to call her by her birth name.

I know perfectly well what her name is.What I mean is she's always been known and wanted to be known as Kate. Now an engagement makes the media call her Catherine. Why? I don't see the problem. Most people call me Ben, but in the professional world people refer to me by my full name (which I prefer). It is, after all, her full name, and Queen Kate sounds a bit weak. Besides it's not like they will pass a law which means you have to refer to her as Queen Katherine, I'm sure she doesn't care how people say her name.
