Default You know your computer is overdue a virus scan when....
You can hear a cillit bang advert looping over and over even when your browser isnt open

Avg wont shift it so i tried adaware that hasnt worked now im trying bit defender its driving me nuts where the hell is it coming from barry scott is one annoying bastard

Do you have problems with limescale, rust, ground in dirt? They're a challenge for some household cleaners but not for Cillit Bang!

Yes and i cant see anything in the process list that it might be.
Il try malwarebytes once bitdefender has finished scanning its found 20 suspicious so far so fingers crossed.

i do a virus scan like once every month and there is never any viruses on

There is lots of different symptoms depending on what kind of virus it is, if you have decent anti virus software and firewall and scan regularly your computer should be fine.

I have that Norton security thing if that's relevant to anything

Usually through downloads.

Though I have obviously just been on some dodgy site...as I havent downloaded anything for ages

I was using AVGs firewall too, so AVG is officially useless in my eyes now...
