Well MCD anyway
![]() Arctic Monkeys are today confirmed as one of the headliners for OXEGEN 2011. We asked you who you most wanted to see and Arctic Monkeys and Foo Fighters were among your top choices. Arctic Monkeys are without question one of the defining bands of the last decade. Their first album, Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not became the fastest-selling debut album in UK music history and the soundtrack for a generation. Their second release Favourite Worst Nightmare saw them hit No.1 again and pick up a Brit Award for Best Album and Best Band for the second year running. The band developed their sound further with their critically acclaimed third chart topper Humbug. Last seen at OXEGEN in 2006, it’s brilliant to welcome Arctic Monkeys back to Punchestown. Foo Fighters were our first band confirmed for 2011 yesterday. The US superstars, fronted by Dave Grohl, are one of the most influential bands on the planet. Their headline set will be the first chance for Irish fans to hear new material as well as anthems spanning their incredible Grammy laden career. OXEGEN returns to Punchestown Racecourse, Naas, Co Kildare from Thursday 7th-Sunday 10th July 2011. (subject to licence). Early Bird Saver tickets will be available from 9am tomorrow, Wednesday 15th December until Friday 31st December from www.ticketmaster.ie ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Hot on the heels of announcing Foo Fighters and Arctic Monkeys as the first headliners for OXEGEN 11, we are pleased to confirm that blink-182 will also be at your Punchestown party in July.
With 25 million worldwide album sales under their belt, pop punk trio blink-182 formed in California in 1992 and released five studio albums including multi-platinum selling breakthrough album Enema of the State before breaking away from the music scene in 2004. The 51st Grammy Awards in 2009 brought the band back together and and their awesome sold-out performance at Dublin’s O2 in August showed them to be at the height of their powers. With a new album planned for release in spring 2011, blink-182’s OXEGEN performance will be eagerly anticipated by their Irish fans. Already, OXEGEN 11 is shaping up to be an unforgettable year with our first headliners, Foo Fighters and Arctic Monkeys, confirmed earlier this week. US superstars Foo Fighters will debut tracks from their forthcoming new album at OXEGEN. Fronted by Dave Grohl, the multi-platinum selling US superstars are one of the biggest bands on the planet. Arctic Monkeys’ first album, Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not became the fastest-selling debut album in UK music history and the soundtrack for a generation. They’ve since released two more No.1 albums and won a host of awards including an incredible five Brit Awards.

Paolo Nutini today becomes the fourth artist confirmed for OXEGEN 2011! The multi-platinum selling Scottish superstar was a big hit with OXEGEN fans on the main stage last year and we’ve been inundated with requests to bring him back.
Since appearing at OXEGEN, Paolo triumphed at The Q Awards 2010, where he won Best Male Artist. His last album, ‘Sunny Side Up’ was a number 1 hit in Ireland and built on the success of debut ‘These Streets’ which sold over 2 million copies.
