Im sure its all very PC and equal rights etc but..
its pretty stupid and irresponsible to throw a reporter like her into the middle of a frenzied Egyptian mob. And now look whats happened... Im sure its very brave of her and all but really her bosses should have not allowed it. Safety before all else. Its not like she's the only one capable of doing the job. If Egyptians don't take an attractive young female journalist seriously then she's probably not even suitable for the job anyways because she will struggle to get good info from them. |

Foreign men are forward with all women! My friends who are black went to Italy and Spain and they could barely walk without wolf whistles or forward men.
Anyways, I haven't read what she has to say, can't be arsed but was she really sexually harassed? Did she actually feel a penis or did she just feel some gropping? She was in the middle of people celebrating freedom after 30 years, they were excited, jumping around, shoving....

I don't know why I am skeptical about this one. I usually believe the woman right away. Maybe because recently a reporter admitted that she lied about being assaulted to get attention, or maybe I find it hard to believe it that after days of fighting they finally get what they want and their first thought was to pin a woman down and rape her....meh maybe it was then. Many foreign countries think they have authority over women.

Sexually assaulted does not always mean rape. I think the reports would say rape if that were the case. Plus she's vowing to return to work in weeks. My guess is she was aggressively molested and abused.
I don't know what she or her bosses are trying to prove by her being there but it seems pretty stupid to me. Different journalists suit different situations and she should not be there. She also has a child and knew very well that its a very dangerous place to be, especially for a woman. |
