in an interview in september on youtube with emma willis davina said she had put big brother to rest and would not make a formal announcement on presenting channel 5's one if it came about unless an offer actually came in.

Could that be why she made the blog post :

I think you're looking into it a bit too much. Big Brother has gotten back in the papers recently so she may have written that as it has seemed to have been the hot topic the past few weeks.

i agree she wouldnt have done it specificlly to do that but i honestly think she wouldnt make an announcement if the claims weren't true that big brother is coming back. i believe channel 5 contacted her anyway and i believe bb will come back.

I think she was led to believe Five were about to publicly announce the deal within days (as most people, including a lot of journalists had been). Of course its coming back, there is no doubt about it, but they have obviously decided not to announce it yet - they need to do it with a bang, not among a list of other shows.

I don't see it coming back on any other channel. It will only work on Channel 4 if they put the effort in to make it work and get good characters in. That is if it ever does come back which as the days go by, i doubt it.

Yeah, to make a proper announcement Channel 5 will want to give immediate details to get people attracted. The presenters fixed, the format, when it starts etc.
Rather than announce that they've agreed to bring it back, they only want to announce it once deals are signed and things are 100% going ahead.
So, they probably contacted Davina to give her first chance at presenting it before offering someone else and then she's given them the go ahead to look for someone else (probably Emma Willis, who she's already put forward as an option).

But I don't blame Davina really. The whole ending last year and Davina's Big Send Off and when it was showing their final days in the studios celebrating the end of it all would seem a bit silly to just pick up a year later as though nothing happened.

If they asked her and told her it would be back on another channel this time last year or just before BB11 started she'd have probably jumped at the chance to carry on but it would be silly to do it now.
