¯\_(ツ)_/¯
|
![]() It baffles me as to why the BBC feel the need to employ him and then give Claudia Winkleman the Film... slot. Just insane.

Nothing in excess

Yeah, I don't always agree with him, but I'd probably watch Film 2011 if they had him presenting. Still, Claudia Winkelman is an improvement over Jonathan Ross.

Jolly good

As was said, he didn't want the Film 2011 job. He said that he thought he didn't have enough of a mainstream sensibility for it and prefers radio anyway.
I don't think he would have been able to continue the Five Live show if he did Film 2011 so I am glad he didn't get it. Mayo is a good foil for him on the radio. |

Yes he was even with Richard Bacon for the first hour or so of his show today. It good to have others views. The only thing that he is wrong about is 3-D as in Sports 3-D is now a total revolution helping pubs and homes. Sure there is bad 3-D but he never ever said one good word about 3-D And Now the BBC1HD TV is doing a 3-D event later in the year http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011...w-3d-dinosaurs Last edited by arista; 28-02-2011 at 03:22 PM. |

Would have loved to see Mark Kermode hosting Film 2011, but I really enjoy his interaction with Simon Mayo on Five Live. For it to work on T.V you'd have to have an equally strong partner so that they could bounce opinions back and forth as this seems to be the most enjoyable part of his radio show. Nevermind, as Arista and James have already said, he didn't want the gig anyway, but it was a nice thought.
Claudia Winkleman doesn't really do it for me, but she's innoffensive enough I suppose, although she does make me feel a little uncomfortable watching her squint through her fringe to read the autocue. I keep getting the urge to put my hand through the screen and brush the hair out of her eyes although, admittedly, this an improvement on wanting to put my hand through the screen to punch Jonathon Ross in his grill. Anyway, nice to meet you all as this is my first post here. x |
