The actress, who suffers part paralysis in her lower body due to contracting a strain of the MRSA superbug in 2004, made a brave trip to her fitness centre in Chelsea Harbour.

It was the first time Leslie has been snapped by photographers in a year, since leaving her role on Holby City last April.

Leslie strolled around in the spring sunshine in her running shoes, jogging tights and a fur-trimmed jacket.

But despite gaining mobility again in her legs after tragically contracting the superbug almost seven years ago, she still appeared to be struggling with the aftermath of the infection.

Miss Ash was left with permanent spinal damage from the incident at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital after being admitted for broken ribs.

She spent years gaining mobility after being told she may possibly never walk again and will be on painkillers for the rest of her life.
