Just a reminder of the rules for the forum.
The list of mods/admin on this forum can be found here. Feel free to send us a message if you need any help regarding anything. You may not use this forum as a means of advertising your own website. Do not post all in capital letters, or use txt speech. Not only does it look bad, it is also very hard to understand. You may get a warning for the first time you do this, but in general, threads like this will just be deleted. If it persists, infractions will be given. Do not insult other members. If someone insults you, report it and ignore. Do NOT report it, and then answer them, as this winds things up more. To add to this, do not knowingly try to cause arguments. We are not blind and even a little sniping comment can spark off a huge argument. Do NOT abuse the report button. We get hundreds of reports a day. Please don't report things that are not breaking any rules as it only makes our job harder. Someone saying something bad about your favorite housemate does not justify a report. If you do submit too many false reports, you may find YOU are the one who is punished. Do not insult fans of housemates. It is fine to insult housemates, to a certain extent...as long as it is not too over the top eg. 'XXX is such a fat ugly horrible bitch' with no other substance to the post or 'I wish she would just die a horrible and painful death' but insulting fans, counts as insulting other FMs. This includes stereotyping fans (IE. &^%&*$%&^ fans are shallow) and accusing people of jumping on bandwagons, just because they like someone you do not. Racism/homophobia/discrimination of any sort wont be tolerated and will be punished, no questions asked. Do not make threads/posts asking why members are banned, you do not need to know. Spam will not be tolerated. This includes posting posts made entirely of smileys and posting GIFs 24/7. The odd post like this is fine, but when it becomes frequent, or you appear to add not much else to the forum, a warning/infraction may be given. The one exception to this, is in the LF discussion thread, where screenpcaps of what is happening are often posted. Creating multiple thread on the same subject also qualifies as spam. We do not expect you to read every post, however, it is easy to scan through the first page and see if there is already a thread on the subject you are discussing...before you post your thread. Posting spoilers, without a spoiler warning in the title, and spoiler tags inside the thread, will be punished. Not everyone wants to know things before they happen. To post a spoiler, just put the text inside [ spoiler] [ /spoiler] (minus the spaces) Spoiler: Do not dispute infractions on the main forum. This causes unnecessary drama. There is a private forum here that you can use to speak directly to staff, your posts here will not show to anyone else. Only use this forum to dispute infractions/bans which you feel are unfair, no other reason. Do not use it if you did break a rule. Just accept the infraction and move on if this is the case. If a thread gets locked, and arguments removed, then the thread is reopened, do NOT continue on the argument. It causes unnecessary work for us, and is annoying. You may receive an infraction for doing so. Do not try to avoid the swear filter, it is there for a reason. If we find you to be doing this a lot, you will receive an infraction. Please remember that people as young as 13 have access to this forum. If you create a multiple account, you will be banned for 7 days, no disputes at all. Whatever your reason for creating said account. If you continue to make multiple accounts, your ban may be made permanent. If you then continue to make accounts, a complaint will be sent to your ISP. Just dont do it... Do not have inappropriate images in you avatar/signature. Also, keep signature sizes to a minimum. A signature that takes up too much space, will be removed, and if you continue to add it, you will be punished. The signature guidelines can be found here. Fanclub threads are a place for FANS to discuss their favorite housemates. Negative posts are not allowed in those threads, the rest of the forum is a free for all, but one thread per housemate is not. Negative posts in these threads are regarded as baiting, and will be deleted. If you continue to make negative posts in the fanclub threads, you will receive infractions for them. If one of your posts is edited, do NOT re edit it. It was edited for a reason. If posting information on something, please include a reliable source or you may find your post/thread deleted. ------------------------- On a totally separate note, if there are any newbies reading this post wondering how to get started (ie. get an avatar and brighten up your account) there is a thread HERE with the links you might need

I would suggest every new member, and a lot of our older members to read through these carefully so as not to be shocked if you receive a ban for breaking a rule
Easy enough to follow. Basically, just respect other peoples opinions and dont be a pain

Please will all members at least scan the first page of threads in here before making a thread.
If there is already a thread on what you wish to discuss, use that instead of making another

Also PLEASE have some consideration with spoilers. Some people do not want to know what's happened until the highlights show. If you wish to post news beforehand please add [SPOILERS] to your thread title Ta! |

Recently, we have noticed a lot of accusations of bias aimed at the moderators of this site. First off I must stress that even though moderators do chat on the main forum about their favourite housemates, this does not affect anything when it comes to actually moderating.
Everyone we see breaking a rule gets punished. We do not care who you support or who you dislike. For those who arent familiar with the rules, they are here. As long as your post is within those guidelines, you will not receive an infraction, no matter which housemate your post is talking about. Also, it might be useful for you to know that every infraction that any moderator gives is looked over by an administrator. And if anyone WAS found to be biased, they would be sacked. If you ever do feel that you have received an unfair infraction there is a private forum HERE. Posts in this forum will be seen only by you and by staff. We are human, and sometimes we do make mistakes..and if you think you have not broke any rules yet still received an infraction, make a thread in this section explaining this and if you are found to be correct, the infraction/ban will be removed and an apology given. Do not use this section if you know you did break a rule. The main rule that is being broken recently is people insulting fans of housemates. I believe this may be where members might be getting confused. It is FINE to insult the actual housemates(within reason, no libelous comments or wishing death on them etc.), but there is no reason at all to insult their fans(or people who dislike your fave), be this by generalizing, stereotyping, making snide comments or just insulting them. It has also come to our attention today that a couple of members have infact been outright lying to other members about infractions they have received/reasons they got them, in order to make out that the site is biased. There is no reason for anyone to do this besides to wind other members up. It is little more than trolling in my opinion, and if this continues to happen, then the people involved WILL be banned. If you have received any private messages or wall posts telling you that someone has received, for example, 5 infractions in a day just for saying they dislike Tom...take it with a pinch of salt. Some members do tend to exaggerate in general just to make out they are the innocent party in everything, whilst most people accept that they did break a rule, and simply move on... Thanks for taking the time to read this and hopefully the forum can run a little smoother from now on

It seems clarification is needed in the case of a housemate/housemates family member joining the forum.
Once they are a member of this forum, the same rules apply that apply to all other members. Eg. no insulting them directly. For example. BB is over and housemate X joins the forum and makes a 'hello' thread. It would NOT be acceptable to go into that thread and say 'you are a wanker'. However, although they are now a member, it is fine to still discuss them in other parts of the site. For example, joining in with other discussion threads about housemate X and slagging them off would be perfectly fine. To clarify, insults directly to the housemate are not allowed. However insults about the housemate are allowed. (though the no over the top abuse rule does still apply, in all cases) Just because a housemate joins the site, this does not make them immune from criticism, however we still expect all members to respect other members, which would include that housemate. -------------------------------------------------- I realise this is quite hard to follow, so I have made some hypothetical examples here...
