WHEN OK! says it has not been easy catching Chantelle and Preston together, we who have rarely seen them apart since their Celebrity Big Brother debut wonder. Looking forward to an OK! wedding What OK! means, of course, is that it been unable to pin the couple down in a way that allows the magazine’s readers to bone up on Kerry Katona’s Diary and Jordan’s every ripple. But now things seem to have changed. This is an OK! photoshoot that suggests more is to come. And to get us all in the mood for regular updates with the couple who plan to marry in the summer, OK! gives us a potted history of their romance to date. We get the bits about their growing love, how Preston proposed to ex-girlfriend Camille Aznar (a “knee-jerk reaction”) and the part about how even though they were falling for each other they did not dare show their affection. Preston: We knew we had feelings for each other but we had to force it into a friendship because that’s all it could be. Chantelle: That’s all we could do. It is all so desperately romantic. But this is no Brief Encounter of a love that dare not give itself a chance - it is a modern love story where Camille gets dumped and Preston and Chantelle move in together. Not that this stops Preston looking deeply into the reasons for asking one girl to marry him, then asking another one to do the same a few weeks later. “I just think there’s obviously sort of Freudian and psychological reasons for what I did,” says Preston. So obvious are these deep-rooted behavioural triggers that Preston doesn’t bother to list them, perhaps fearful of wasting our time as he once wasted Camille’s. While we try and work out which of Camille, Chantelle and Preston are Ego, Super-ego, and Id, Preston says he is not playing with his latest fiancée. They are going to spend the rest of their lives together. Right? “I wouldn’t have asked her [to get married] otherwise,” says Preston. Course not. Who would ask someone to marry them when they weren’t serious? Preston’s as solid as they come. So let’s talk about the wedding that will surely be. Will it be like Jordan and Peter Andre’s? “No,” says Preston. “I’d rather kill myself than have a wedding like that personally,” says Chantelle. At which moment OK! dashes out to cancel the pumpkins... http://www.anorak.co.uk//news.cfm?id=169661 |
