Default I need to help my friend, need advice

I have a friend who is obsessed with reality tv. Big Brother and X Factor are his favourites.

Anyway, I haven't seen him in about a year and when I finally met with him for coffee last week he admitted he spends up to 20 hours (no joke, this is serious) a day on chat rooms discussing former housemates or contestants on tv shows.

He has gained weight (about 3 stone or so) and couldn't even walk a few yards without getting breathless.

I generally spend my days jogging in the park or at the gym. I don't watch tv that much and only spend time in doors when I'm resting up from my various sporting activities.

So, anyway, I need some advice:

How can I encourage my friend to get out more and stop wasting his life on chat rooms talking about things only complete losers and saddos do?

I can understand talking about reality shows for maybe 1 or 2 hours a week, but up to 20 hours a day?

That's crazy (and a little pathetic really).

Help needed please.
