Default Emma Willis, favourite to become BB host!!

Emma's fave to replace Davina as new BB host

EMMA WILLIS reckons she deserves to become the new Big Brother host because she's spent so much of her life glued to it.

The 35-year old is the bookies' and former presenter Davina McCall's favourite to take over the show when it switches from Channel 4 to Channel 5 later this year.

This week housemate hopefuls were asked to apply on-line and although she claims she hasn't had the call, Emma's in the running to take over from Davina as the face of the reality television favourite.

She said: "I'm the biggest diehard fan you'll ever meet so it would be lovely to be involved in the show as I feel I've invested time and years watching it.

"Lots of people talking about me taking over doesn't mean that's the way it's going to go.

"The nicest thing about it was that Davina backed me. I adore her. It was really nice of her to mention my name although it would be frightening having to follow in her footsteps."

Other names in the frame include BB2 winner Brian Dowling and even reality TV favourite Myleene Klass, but Emma is seen as a safe pair of hands who has been part of the Big Brother family.

She has also been linked with The Xtra Factor job and next week will be presenting ITV2's coverage of the National Movie Awards.

But Big Brother is her big love.

Last year she quit presenting Live From Studio Five after just two months to do Big Brother's Little Brother for the final series on Channel 4 and also co-presented the Big Brother Digital, the show's on-line strand.

Like many fans she was gutted when Channel 4 decided to ditch the show after a decade.

She said: "I was lost in January when Celebrity Big Brother wasn't on. I didn't know what to watch. So I'm really excited that it's coming back."

Like Davina, Emma is a mum who would have empathy with the housemates and become the new "Big Mutha".

The mum-of-one laughed: "I have a lot of empathy for people that go in that house, that's a severe situation to be in."

Hasn't she ever wanted to be part of the celebrity version? When Channel 5 bring Big Brother back it will kick it off with a celeb version at first. Emma revealed she had been asked to take part in the past.

She said: "When it was the last one on Channel 4 I was like 'hold on I'm meant to be one of the biggest fans of this show that ever lived so why wouldn't I want to experience it?' "But there's still a bit of me that thinks: 'Really? Would I really want to do it?'" That's not a no, but understandably for a presenter about to get her first permanent job she doesn't want to look a fool.

But she joked: "You only make an ar** of it if you are an ar** and I don't think I am."

She was born Emma Griffiths in Birmingham and began modelling at the age of seven, becoming a presenter on MTV in 2002.

Since then she's become a regular on ITV2 shows. In 2007 and 2008 she copresented I'm A Celebrity's spin-off show with husband, Busted's Matt, but quit the 2009 show to have their daughter, Isabelle.

Next week she'll be hosting the ITV2 coverage of the National Movie Awards after Christine Bleakley hosts it on ITV1. As well as the NMAs hosting big acting names, it will also see Take That performing their new unheard X Men single Love Love at the Wembley Arena event.

And after that there's The Xtra Factor. With Konnie Huq rumoured to have been binned from the X Factor spin-off, Emma is also one of the favourites to take-over.

She said: "Again, I haven't heard anything. But it's general knowledge that I'm a huge reality show fan and I'm addicted to all of them. I'm an obvious name. I'm lucky to have worked on two of our biggest reality shows (Big Brother and I'm A Celebrity) and if I can work on others, fantastic."

Hubby Matt, who won I'm A Celebrity in 2006, is working in musicals and is currently touring Footloose which stopped off in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen. He is auditioning to play Alfie Moon's nephew, but there are reports that he is being lined up for this year's Strictly Come Dancing.

Emma laughed: "Wait till I get home! I t h i n k he'd be good on that show. He pretends he can't dance, but secretly he is good.

"I've not seen him in sequins but I've seen him in Lycra when he goes running.

"I'd like to see him in neon blue Lycra, now that would be quite exciting." Certainly, the Willis home is a happy place. It wasn't always so with Matt only three days out of rehab when he and Emma got married in 2008. They'd met in 2005 and she has admitted the pair became "drinking pals".

He was admitted to The Priory in 2005 for alcohol abuse and returned for another stint in 2006 for drug problems and reportedly Emma told him to clean up his act if he wanted the wedding to happen.

Daughter Isabelle, who'll be two in June, has cemented the relationship.

Emma said: "It's such a clich›, but it's the best thing that ever happens to you and makes you a much better person when you have to support another person."

She and Matt are also able to juggle work and being parents.

She said: "It's worked out really nicely because I've seemed to be busy and then when it goes quiet for me Matt gets really busy. There's always one of us with her, which is great.

"We have been really lucky so far that we've managed to wrangle it that way."

But for now she's on the internet trying to get dress ideas for tomorrow's NMAs - Emma admits she's not the best shopper in the world.

Voted for by the public, it's a very different awards ceremony to the more stuffy Oscars, with movies that everyone has seen, not just a select few.

With a toddler to look after, Emma has been getting the DVDs of films such as The King's Speech and Black Swan because she hasn't had much moviewatching time and wants to know what she's talking about on the red carpet.

She said: "The worry is that you freeze and forget everything. But that's the exciting part - anything can happen and you've just got to roll with it.

She added: "My career has been stop and start up until now, but I feel that that I'm just getting going again."

The National Movie Awards are on ITV1 from 8pm, Wednesday May 11. Emma presents red carpet coverage from 10pm, ITV2.

A bit more detail in there than from the other articles. Seems like Emma has a few presenting gigs coming up. Maybe if she is successful at these she will definately get the BB job. Or she might already have it. Hopefully she has. And not someone like Myleene Klass or Kate Walsh has taken over the role. Neither of them could be bothered to go on BBLB or BBBM so being handed such a prestigious job would be absurd.

BBLB is not coming back is it? Josie said she wouldn't mind hosting it.. Please to god no. I wouldn't mind Brian Dowling, Jeff Brazier, Kate Walsh or Myleene Klass for that job though! Preferably Sam and Mark for BBLB or BBBM though
