Just watched episode 5.
Spoiler:

Elias being alive was a big shock, had no idea that was coming at all

I loved how the ShotSeeker plot tied back around to Samaritan (kind of like last season with the Nautilus game seeming like an independent storyline then Samaritan being revealed as the orchestrator).

Looks like Fusco's putting himself in Samaritan's sights by investigating all the missing persons reports, I think at this point he's in more danger being kept out of the loop so they'll need to bring him into the fold soon enough.

Bear is so cute.

As long as he and The Machine survive the final season, I'm good.

Those final moments of episode 6

Spoiler:

Wasn't keen on the wedding subplot (I mean it was fine but total filler) but the segments with Shaw / Greer / Samaritan and Fusco were great. Fusco finding the bodies of all the missing people and Samaritan showing Shaw a simulation of World War 3 breaking out were chilling sequences.

I don't think Fusco is dead since I'm sure they'll have him finally find out about The Machine / Samaritan etc this season. And Bear better have bloody gotten out of those tunnels in time!!!

I've noticed that Greer refers to others as "my dear" a lot. Kind of makes him even more sinister.

Double bill tonight

Watching episode 7 now.

Spoiler:

Reese: The only way to keep Lionel safe is to keep him in the dark.

Well clearly not since him being out of the loop has resulted in him doing his own investigations into all the weird stuff happening and now Samaritan's actively trying to kill him. Tell him everything (you know, that a dictatorial artificial super-intelligence that sees your every move is behind everything) and he might stop doing things to provoke it.

I get the sentiment that knowing about Samaritan automatically puts you in more danger from it but that only stands if you don't know anything's happening and so don't go trying to investigate. He's past that point now.

Brilliant episode, one of my favourites actually

Spoiler:

Samaritan just gets creepier and creepier, sending hidden codes over radio transmissions and perfectly cloning voices to fake suicide messages now.

I loved that they gave the story a bleak ending with Max being killed rather than a tacked on hopeful resolution, it really drives home how dangerous the the threat of Samaritan is. And the twist with the assistant being a Samaritan operative all along was brilliant (and terrifying since it hammers home that they could be hiding anywhere in plain sight). I also love any time they bring up the moral dilemmas regarding The Machine.

The Shaw scenes were great too, her shooting the doctor thinking it was another simulation then finding out it was real .

Just watched the latest episode, another good one!

Spoiler:

Samaritan having everyone's DNA info stored and planning a "filter" doesn't sound good. I assume the filter is similar to The Correction from last season with Samaritan having certain sections of the population killed for whatever reasons.

Episode 9

Spoiler:

I've been looking forward to this one since I knew it was the return of The Voice. Glad his identity was revealed before the show ended, Easton being The Voice all along was a brilliant twist that I didn't see coming at all. Elias killing him via car bomb was a cool twist too and I like the idea of him accompanying Finch on a mission so he can do the morally questionable things that Finch won't.

That shootout in the precinct was epic

Shaw finally reuniting with the team and Fusco finally learning about The Machine were great developments too, really loved that last shot of them standing looking at the New York skyline. Though I can't help but think some of them are gonna die in the process of taking down Samaritan.

Very excited for tonight's episode, the 100th! Really glad the show reached that milestone before ending.
Spoiler:

The title of the episode, "The Day The World Went Away" is really intriguing and I know it involves Finch's number coming up so I think it's gonna be another great one.

The 100th episode

Spoiler:

I was expecting someone to die, but Elias and Root in one episode

That shot of the camera panning down to Root's body was chilling.

Having The Machine take on Root's voice is a really nice way to keep Amy Acker a part of the show until the end. Now I assume "Root"'s voiceover with the flashforward to the destroyed subway in the first episode was actually The Machine speaking all along.

Just watched last week's ready for tonight's penultimate episode.

Spoiler:

Having The Machine communicate with Harold verbally regularly is so strange (but in a great way) . I love how, since she's adopted Root's voice, she's also using her general way of speaking to Harold (like calling him Harry).

The Machine forming another team, made up of past characters, was a really nice touch too. You can really tell it's approaching the end with these callbacks to the past.

Can't believe there's only two episodes left ever

The penultimate episode

Spoiler:

I loved the sporadic "what if The Machine never existed?" scenarios spread throughout the episode, seems a suitable time to approach that question so close to the end (and as Harold is preparing to kill The Machine along with Samaritan).

Greer's death was a little anticlimactic if I'm honest (and he got to die on his own terms which takes away a little bit of the satisfaction, even though it was ultimately in vain). Still, him sacrificing his life for Samaritan was totally in-character and was a fitting end for him, I just kind of wish he went down a little less willingly , Brilliant villain though, one of my favourites on TV actually. His and Harold's scenes have been among the very high points of the show.

The trailer for the final episode looks brilliant. And from the interviews I've read with Jonathan Nolan and Greg Plageman, it looks like not everyone on the team is gonna make it out alive. As long as Bear lives (with someone left to take care of him of course!)

Can't believe it ends forever this week but I'm just so glad they were able to give it a real conclusion (and according to Jonathan Nolan, the conclusion they had in mind for years).

This ends for good tonight.

I'm gonna be a mess if Bear or The Machine die (yeah typical me, worrying about the non-human characters first).

I really hope to see Michael Emerson prominently again in something else soon. My favourite actor for sure, has been since his days on Lost.

Stunning finale

Spoiler:

All of the endings for the characters just felt right to me. The Machine living on after beating Samaritan, Reese dying to save Finch, Finch returning to Grace and a normal life finally. Where everyone ended up was just so perfectly fitting. And of course, Shaw taking Bear

I do wish we got to see Carter one last time in the final episode in a flashback or something but I assume Taraji wasn't available so that would be unavoidable. Same with Control, I'd have liked to see her again during the final season and have her story tied up but, going off the way she was taken away at the end of Season 4, I think it's safe to assume she was killed.

I loved having The Machine physically appear as Root too so we got to see (and not just hear) Amy Acker in the final episode, it wouldn't have felt right not to.

I also loved all the emotion put into the finale, it was really beautiful and I'd be lying if I said my heartstrings hadn't been violently tugged by the end, most specifically with The Machine's philosophies about life and death and her final goodbye with Harold.

What an absolutely brilliant show. The evolution of Person of Interest has been one of my favourites of any show. It's definitely gonna be missed.
