Details of the Britain's Got Talent live shows and Simon Cowell's return to ITV1 have been confirmed.

Cowell has been absent from the audition stages of the talent show because of his current commitments launching The X Factor USA. However, the Syco boss will be involved in all the live shows later this month.

The BGT semi-finals will be stripped across the week commencing Monday, May 30, concluding with the grand final on Saturday, June 4.

ITV's press centre tweeted: "Simon Cowell will return for the Britain's Got Talent semi-finals, starting Monday 30 May on ITV1."

Audition judges David Hasselhoff, Amanda Holden and Michael McIntyre will all also appear on the live shows. The trio recently joked that Cowell may have to sit on his own "throne" because the judging table wouldn't be long enough for a fourth person.

Cowell revealed earlier this month that he had been watching and working behind the scenes on BGT throughout the run, and dismissed claims that he was unhappy with the new judging lineup
