It was always going to get a smaller turnout.

Only the superfans and REALLY desperate would actually be bothered about been on C5.

Someone was bound to report on it, and most certainly a tabloid red top rag. The Sun is one of them so it's not unlikely or unexpected really.

Today is also Friday, so the majority of people would be at work. I would expect tomorrow to have a much larger turn out.

It Had no promo so what do you expect. Lack of Promomotion is the REAL REASON why music sales are falling.

Well I wasn't even aware that auditions had started. Poor advertisment from them was bound to lead to no one turning up.

They said that "8 million people watched in 2007"? they really are clueless.

That pic was probs taken at 6am lol

10,000 People applied online .

Actually the smaller number of applicants the better chance of me getting in so i hope noone turns up

I think BB peaked at BB3, or something.

The Sun are talking rubbish.

The piture of the queue fences would have been taken straight after the people working for BB put them up!! I bet loads turned up to the auditions today. A few thousand at least. I do think more will go tomorrow though!

I honestly can't see them get anywhere near the number of auditions C4 had because; they didn't advertise enough, the locations are too far for the majority of the population unless you live near Manchester/London (or have lots of money/are desperate to be famous) and in reality, a lot of the old fans really don't care about BB being on C5.

Now that Big Brother is being shown by a rival media organisation it isn't going to get positive coverage from other tabloid newspapers, unfortunately.

Unless, of course, it is a huge hit then they won't be able to ignore it.

This is the Daily Star's side of the story.

Quote:
BIG Brother returned with a bang yesterday as thousands queued through the night in a bid to enter the famous house.

Producers were deluged with wannabes as auditions for the Channel 5 show began.

Among those hoping to impress judges were glamour girls, a member of Mensa and a Kim Kardashian lookalike.

And producers said they were going back to basics to recreate the explosive scenes seen in earlier series.

They said picking people purely on their personalities and not on the way they look will ensure fireworks.

Executive producer Katy Smith said: “We’re very keen to have really genuine housemates, people who want to do it for the experience and not just because they want the fame.

“Big Brother needs to be a bit more authentic. Our biggest message is: ‘Be yourself.’ If you aren’t your persona will crumble in the house.

“The house just gets bigger and better each year with each new group of housemates and this year, more than ever, it will be very personality-led.”

First in the queue at Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium was 34DD model Lucy Harold, 22.

The lads’ mag favourite, from Birmingham, said: “I just want to show people that I am so much more than a pretty face.

“People think that because you are pretty you are thick and I am fed up of it. Big Brother is an experience you can’t buy and I want to get out of my comfort zone.”

Meanwhile, professional boxer Jerome Wilson, 26, wants viewers to see his quieter side.

The Sheffield fighter said: “I’d be a great calming influence in there. Underneath there is a very diplomatic person who is not always seen.”

Primark worker Andrew Foster, 19, from Liverpool, said he would quit his law degree if he got a place in the house, adding: “I’ve got the brains and I think Big Brother needs me.”

Manchester: open auditions today at Old Trafford football ground.

London: two more live open auditions on Saturday and Sunday (June 18 and 19) at the Emirates Football Stadium.

Just turn up on the day and try to wow the Big Brother producers.

Channel 5 director of programmes Jeff Ford said: “It really couldn’t be easier to apply this year. All potential housemates need to do is turn up on the day and do everything they can to convince our casting panel that they have what it takes.”

I wouldn't believe near all the Sun says, I don't know if it ever was but it long ago lost any credibility as a newspaper.
I am sure BB will be a great success for Channel 5. The likes of the Sun will only jump in for any controversy.
I am actually at this stage surprised the Sun even mentioned BB,it has chosen to totally ignore it thus far over all the new contracts and plans.

I've thought that from the start. Come on, Big Brother is dead - why dig up the corpse?

BB is now owned by the same man who owns the Daily Star (Richard Desmond). Why would the Sun (which is owned by Rupert Murdoch) say good things about it?

I was at the Manchester Auditions on Friday with a friend, the auditions were smaller than 2010, but there was still a big turn out and that pic was probably taken earlier in the morning, there were heaps of really weird people out there tho

Little chance then of getting normal, regular housemates then.....just a media fest of wannabees. Sigh.
