Secret Story 5 began last night for anyone interested - though unfortunately once again videos are blocked on the official site. So annoying - I followed it for three years via the official site with vids and full episodes available worldwide - but then they began randomly blocking vids and last year nothing was available at all, so it wasn't worth the effort.

Not too keen on the house either this year - it's rather bland compared to the usual hideously colourful efforts.


P.S. Quebec is set to launch Secret Story this year. They ran with Loft Story for 5-6 seasons before replacing it with Big Brother last year, but are now ditching that in favour of Secret Story.

What's the difference between Secret Story and Big Brother?

Basically the secrets. Each HM has a secret and a prize pot related to their secret. Along with avoiding being evicted and the usual tasks etc. HMs must try and discover each others secrets (to win that HMs cash) and avoid their own being discovered.

The house also has secrets to discover - usually one of which will give the person who identifies it a pass to the final.

The House:








As you can see this year's house is all about nature, oriental and ancient signs. There are Mayan and Egyptian signs and codes everywhere as they reveal clues about the housemates' secrets.
For the first time, the grass in the garden is black. The bedrooms are in the garden so the housemates can see the light. So is the bathroom so everyone can see you showering.

Launch Show:

-By a Big Brother world first: the basement of the house is a labyrinth made with tunnels going through the house which is a great place to hide to listen conversations from the other housemates. Zarko and Zelko, Serbian twins who are totally different (Zelko is straight, party boy and fun loving while Zelko is gay, owns a nails care salon and loves plants) became the "Masters of the Underground" which means they are the only ones who have access to the underground but must not be discovered. Another privilege for them: Zarko and Zelko could nominate one housemate forever until the eviction of the housemate that they chose.

-Ayem and Daniel are in a fake relationship and must pretend they are a real couple. However, they don't know it yet and have one week to find their "fake" partner"

-Anthony is a former elite sniper.

-2 real couples: Aurélie - Geof / Marie - Geoffrey. In order to hide their relationship, the Voice has decided to switch the partners which means Aurélie and Geoffrey are together and Geof and Marie are also together.

-Morgan is a 21 y-o boy who is a.....cheerleader!

-Sabrina is living with lungs from someone else. Described by the production as "Secret Story's toughest secret ever".

-Anthony and Elizabeth are nominated to enter in the House. Viewers have to choose who deserve to enter in the house with his/her secret. Anthony got voted in by 75% of the public vote. By the way, Elizabeth was a gifted children.

Secrets who haven't been made public:

-A Queen of Pop ruined my relationship.
-I have been a noun.
-My father's name is Brigitte (which means his/her dad is a transsexual)
-I am a somnambulist.
-I am a pathological liar.
-I am the key of the secret of the house.
-I am a member of the Freemasonry.
