Now, I'm not defending Corrie, but for somebody to swear blind that the ratings are falling is completely ludicrous.

A journalist jumped in on this bandwagon and what he did was, he took the current ratings - which are about 8 million roughly - compared it to a one-off special which went out, highly publicised at 9pm and got 10 million, and said that the Street is slipping in the ratings.

Yes, the quality of the soap is awful at the moment, but, for obvious reasons, the ratings comparison is very unfair.

I would've posted this in the soaps' thread, but me talking about Corrie was just an example of how the press twist stories to get what they want.
