It has been confirmed that Lucy and Peter are to return "some point in the future", says Bryan Kirkwood.

I wouldn't get excited about this just yet, as he said they'll return "some point in the future". This could mean at the end of this year, but it could also mean that they'll return long after he's been replaced.

You're probably right. I think it's stupid, though. The likes of the people who play/played Phil Mitchell, Pete Beale, Kat Moon, Tyler Moon (just recently), etc, have all been in trouble with the law during their tenure at EastEnders, and none of them received a permanent ban (although, I do recall Jessie Wallace facing a four/five month suspension or so).

I agree. She's a young girl, going out now and again isn't going to put people off of eastenders forever, she didn't even break the law.

She's 17/18, too (about my age). She's a teenager: she's supposed to have fun. That's what teens and young adults, up to about 25, do - get drunk, have fun, etc. You cannot expect a 17-yr-old to lock herself in her room because she works for EastEnders.
