Default final stages of selection process

has anyone had any experience with the audition process in the past? or know anyone that does?

i had to go to some hotel in London on a day which was during monday-friday last week (i wont be specific because im not leaving any traces!) and have some unrecorded, apparantly "not an audition" psychiatric discussions about all things me and my past last wednesday.

considering after the final group workshop stage a week earlier i got phone called not two hours after leaving, im naturally a little paranoid that it has been almost a week.

the more rational side of me tells me that the psyche tests only started this week anyway so its less likely to receive instant updates and i was probably a bit naive to expect it.

anyway the point is, anyone know how long you have to wait post psyche test for any further updates?

i honestly did try to not get so emotionally invested in this, but its insidious. it clawed its way in and ate me alive.

That's pretty much all the formalised stages done, so there's not much of a standard answer for what happens next (especially as it varies year-on-year; BB11's final 81 all had to make videos, while AFAIK the BB10 finallists had home visits/interviews as usual).

Like they said, the psych thing isn't for audition purposes; it's just a sign you've made it to the top third-or-so of the London callbacks and they want to make sure you'll be fit for the show if they choose you in their ideal cast. There's more phone interviews to go if they're really interested, but you won't know for sure until you get asked to go into hiding!

Good luck - but if you're this nervous just in the audition stage, just imagine how hard it'll be in the house!

They need to make such the end of the process, that they have it right and please don't have any freaks.

thanks thats quite helpful. wow, top third. thats quite scary especially given how quickly i was called back after the final audition. i mean its not like they even waited out the rest of the week.

its not that im as much nervous as i am anxious. i only really applied casually, and going back to more auditions really was a case of "how deep does the rabbit hole go".
both the psyches told me they were "completely thrown" by me. as, in the words of one "you arent the type of person that usually applies for this process and that is probably why you are sat in front of me right now".

my motive for doing the show was diagnosed by one as a "thrillseeker" and the other a "fantasist". both of them said im certainly not a "fame chaser".

the attention and the conspiratorial secrecy of the whole thing is sublime though. its enough to turn anyone into one of the masses!

Top third is still anything from 30-50 people, usually (not sure if there were 100 or 150 people at the callbacks this year, as it varies); quite an achievement, but still a few more hurdles to pass.

Not that I've ever been on the show myself, but I can imagine it's quite a let down to go from the thrills of the audition process & build-up of going into hiding before being stuck in a house with a bunch of dullards with nothing to do 24/7!

If they tell the producers you're an atypical housemate, it could go either way, depending on how they phrase it - if they think you'll walk once the novelty wears off, it might count against you; otherwise, it's a huge plus.

i small talked a few of the low level endemol runners and even the psyches (for the record, never try and play mind games on a psychiatrist.) did a bit of maths and managed to get a rough figure of about 40 people left so that sort of tallies!

when being collected from my secret location, the runner who picked me up told me she recognized me from my first audition. i said "oh yeah you were operating the camera werent you" and she siad "yeah".

i then asked the job of the fellow who was interviewing me during the first audition, who also happened to be the man behind the mirror who also gave us the talk of doom at the final group stage. She said he's the #2 guy of the whole creative process, only one guy above him.

its sufficiently encouraging to hear that the #2 guy of the whole process was the one in all your auditions giving you a yes. especially considering how fast i was called back the last time!

i also had a call the day before my psyche asking me to clarify some details so they can request my medical records.

i read somewhere thats a tell tale sign your going in?

can you tell im reading way too deep into this and that i should just relax

All I know about the audition process is what I've read / watched as a fan. So unfortunately I cannot give you any real advice. However I just wanted to post and congratulate you on getting this far and wish you luck for the future.

Would love to be able to support you (should you make it on the show), but obviously wouldn't know who you are - and of course I would never wish for you to jeopardise your chances by telling.

All the best.

It's a positive sign but even the producers don't know who's going in yet! Even if you go into hiding you may not go on the show (there's usually a few reserves and some people get switched around up to the last second - Science wasn't supposed to be in BB6 until someone dropped out last minute).

Best to just enjoy the process and make sure getting the show is what you really want to do instead getting swept up in the drama of the auditions

I like the sound of you someguy!!

I really hope you go in. Keep your identity hush hush. DO NOT TELL ANYONE.

I think you will cope fine in the house. I think people get nervous and anxious in the auditions maybe because they are so close? and yet so far. Be horrible if you spent a lot of time going back and forth to London for further interviews then right at the end told a "no".

But I like you someguy! Good luck, stay strong and keep in there!!

Love muscle Russel? Maybe. Maybe someone even better. I like the sound of him anyway. He seems promising.

However I am upset that someone who I know who got to the DR room stage hasn't had a call back for further auditions

And I know this person would have been really good. Ahh well. BB's LOSS!

i went to the group auditions this year the week before last week and have heard nothing since. does that mean I have not got any further?

I rung up last week and they still want me to send my forms back, any thoughts?

Hi roo, I was called literally about 2 hours afterwards, so it's not looking likely for yourself I'm afraid. They've been doing the next stage all last week an this week. They MAY still call you if they aren't happy with the group theyve already progressed, that's why they want everyone to send back the signed talk of doom, but if you havnt heard anything yet I'd say it's about 99.9% certain you're out. Sorry

im just a little annoyed as I thought I did really well and i have interesting back story. I also have a disability and I cant help thinking this is why!

I read somewhere about the gold ticket holders audition last wednesday as well, so did they get fast tracked to the phys stage!

i auditioned right at the end of the group auditions on the last day so i thought they wouldnt ring me straight after.

so did they ring you after you left, in the evening then, and they asked you to go back last wednesday?

Well it was around 5ish, and they asked me what day next week was best for me I said Wednesday.

That's interesting you thought you did well, I thought I did horrible and was completely thrown when they rang me so soon.

Just out of curiosity, what day was your audition? We may have been in the same group!

Lunch time. We finished up at about 3.15.

Psyche sessions were 2 hours yes.

That's interesting then, I know they did 3 sessions a day all week. Possibly with the exception of Monday. So that's 120-150 people in the final audition, with the top third reaching the psyches. Which makes the final shortlist 40-50.

OMG I'm close :S
