Ok there have been a couple of people who have made the statement that this years BB contestants are professional actors???
Then why does the Newpapers and sites list them as Sales, Model etc. I know for a fact that several of this years HM's are finalists from last year and did audition through the regular channels. So are we saying then that this means bb11 was also fake? If you can provide me with prof of this then I will be done with Big Brother on c5 and regard "my BB" to be offically dead and buried. But if all you can say is that you think they are fake and half of them are models...well then you haven't watched much Big Brother have you? |

Well, Louise was in that horror movie, Wrong Turn 3. I saw it last year. She had an American accent too.

I think Brian said most of them were models/child models on launch night as they were going in to the house, and one or two of them has acted but that's just like any normal BB, we always get the wannabes that go on there hoping it gets them their big break.

This is their 'field' BEFORE entering the house. In other news: Some have suspected HMs are being prepped with 'scripts' and are playing 'characters' INSIDE the house itself. Here is what I'm seeing: They are all wannabe models, presenters, actors and Nuts Magazine issues for sure. They are not 'prepped' on what to say or told to do 'acting' or given 'plotlines' either. Instead, I believe we have reached a strange point where there are entirely unwritten understandings about how each HM will want to 'invent their character' and play it. I believe they even know what (and when) to say certain things their 'characters' would say and do. I believe they have become sophisticated enough they know what kinds of 'plots' are going to work best and while they do not actually conspire and plan these on paper - they simply 'play into' the whole idea. Not only that but I do believe Big Brother does 'push' them in direction if only by encouragement or insinuations. I imagine an example is simply priming up (for example) Aden about being the 'bashful boy' to Pamela Anderson and harping it up favourably. Aden is then aware this 'character' of his is winning screentime and ratings and simply plays into that direction. But I don't believe there is specific 'lines' and I believe they simply play exaggerated characters of themselves as they believe works best for the stories. And this now includes being able to play the one who is the 'real one' or play the one who 'doesnt care how they look' etc. This includes two 'bitch characters' having unsaid understandings that playing rivals is good for either of them. But yes - almost every single HM in there was, at least, pursuing some kind of career aspiration in some kind of media fields and had their own agents BEFORE applying. |

Ok here goes. I first auditioned in 2004 and last a few seconds! A bored Geordie named Danny merely picked a couple of "eye candy" types for the laydees. In '05 I was in Dublin, got a recall, having seen the prog I was glad I was not chosen. Did not bother until last year and was in Glasgow. Nearly made it so I can tell you IT IS FIXED. I made it to recalls in London, had a producer shadow me for one day (I really think they thought I was a journalist trying to do a Tanya Gold). Anyhow, out of the last 80 there were THREE that were in my group. It is mathematically impossible that all the others chosen were in another group. Many in the March recall in London had almost made it the year before. Go figure.

That's sad. I have enjoyed parts of this series but going from bb7 (as I did before the start) to this is like night and day. Sure many of them were wannabe models and pornstars. Buuut it's the way the show is put together that make it that way. We have yet to see them talking at night, talking over each other, eating around the table or doing anything we have seen the normal people do on the c4 show. It's got me paranoid.

I should say that this HM actually DID apply from the beginning as did all of us and what happened was he was sorted to an advanced stage and went on a list. He was called back the next season. But Kazakh has this right - when you get to those very final stages you MAY see 2 or 4 (or none) who actually appear in the house that season or any other season. (as mentioned some might get through to appear a season later). So where do those other 12 or 18 HMs come from every year?? Agents. Friends and Family of BB Producers. Actors and Actresses who had previously auditioned (and maybe even signed on?) to other C4 and now C5 productions. And in some cases they are simply colourful characters the BB Producers have spotted at various nightclubs or parties or in real estate offices they attend or deal with. They are approached and invited. They may very well do some kind of audition tape or 'part process' HOWEVER they were already invited and confirmed and being prepared to enter BEFORE those obligatory audition tapes were made. In the past there has been a few actual 'public audition' people picked but this year appears to be almost entirely invite/agent referral/professional picks. |

there have always been HMs desperate to get into the business or become famous. Thats always been a huge part of BB. Why some are acting like it's a new thing Im not sure. As long as theyre not working from a script I really dont give a toss myself. Waits for somebody to say they're working from a script... |

I always found it wierd that they managed to get so many strange personalities. I mean what were the chances a blind guy and an Albino applied through normal channels right? And how many people do you meet like Shabaz, Pete and Nikki on the street. Last edited by Valdora; 12-09-2011 at 12:52 PM. |

I dont mind housemates being fame-hungry orange wannabes as long as they're entertaining.

Yeah Alex had to have come from the public auditions to be sure. There is NO CHANCE she is a model or actor. Not to be horrible because some of the shallow threads on here made me hate humanity, but if anything she has to be someone "off the street."

Dear Valdora & Opera Man (esp Opera Man) I live in the real world and during auditions pretty girls or handsome blokes were "fast tracked", what angers me is the double standard, in recent years it has not been fully rounded HMs but a bunch of preening overarching ****s.

Have you seen the show? Basically they all start off as avoid and then end up as marry after the make under. Its kinda predictable in that sense.

Nikki Grahame I quite liked! She was often impersonated at work. The year following her there were a plethora of carbon copies, just as I saw (more than one) faux Brian Dowling in Manchester this year. "Screaming Queens usually look alike Corporal Kazakh".
