Two men who were suspected of robbing a strawberry farmer in Sweden earlier this year have been jailed.

Forensic experts were able to put the men at the scene of the crime, after their faeces was found near their getaway car, according to The Local.

Elof Dahlén, 64, was attacked and robbed by two masked men in February at his home in Central Sweden.

He told local newspaper GT: "Because I don't ususally lock the door when I am in they were able to go straight in. They tied me up and taped my face so I couldn't see or hear what they were up to."

The two men and another accomplice presumably defecated near their getaway car before torching it at a nearby site.

Crime scene investigators later located three piles of faeces near the burnt-out vehicle, leading forensic officers to name the robbers by DNA results.

The two men were sentenced to four years, and four years and four months respectively on Monday.
