Bet the ex housemates choose the housemate for the task, and if that housemate fails, they are out on Thursday. Whether they pass or fail then would depend on the housemate chosen.

They might be putting an ex housemate back in...but not eligible to win (though I still dont agree with this) to stir up the happy house. But this doesnt explain why they are all there...unless they are doing a quick public vote or something

I doubt very much that there will be any kind of nominations because the eviction is thursday, if they did that they couldn't open the lines to win until thursday night, 24 hours to vote for the winner, very doubtful in my opinion.
