Default The Bank Job [C4, January 2012]

Quote:
Coming soon to Channel 4, The Bank Job is a week-long live event with a gripping online element that gives players the chance to pull off the ultimate heist.

Each night four players enter a bank vault with safety deposit boxes filled with real money. One winner leaves with a briefcase full of cash - the other three go home empty-handed.

But that's just the beginning. On the final night the winners from the five shows return with the money they've accumulated for a nail-biting finale. It's the ultimate showdown with a huge twist in which someone could walk out of the bank with the entire prize pot - a life-changing fortune.

In each round, as a clock ticks down, players answer questions to pick a safety deposit box and keep the cash inside. But they face a dilemma that requires real nerve. Stay in the vault to get more money and risk the time running out or bail out early and risk being left with the least - both of which lead to elimination.

The only way to become a contestant on The Bank Job is to play the online game which will launch before the show. Contestants playing the online game in the early episodes of the series could find themselves, just days later, competing in the show for real.
Play the online game here

This sounds pretty good. Played the online game a fair few times the other day and it's quite addictive.

Was plugged for the first time at the end of The Million Pound Drop tonight, but God knows why they've chosen George Lamb as host

Exactly my thought. I was quite looking forward to it but I couldn't care less now George is the host. He was even awkward in that short advert

Just hope it doesn't end affecting the Million Pound Drop, but C4 has said there will be another series in January

I really enjoyed this show, much more entertaining than The Million Pound Drop, which let's be honest, has become rather tedious as the series have progressed (I still watch it though). I honestly do think this show has more shelf life, regardless of how well it's rated.

I loved the ending, and the outcome has to be one of the greatest endings to a TV gameshow ever. George's reaction was hilarious. And talking of George, I've been quite surprised at how much I've liked him this week...he's actually been a decent presenter, much more so than he was on BBLB.

Felt sorry for Michael at the end, but I knew (as obviously he did) that Darragh was going to steal...it was written all over his face.

I laughed as well. Typical greedy men who want one up on the other one but they both failed. It was a nice ending. 3 of the losers sharing 467 grand than just one person taking it all.

I didn't. But yeah that Darragh was monotone throughout the show. Knew he was going to steal. Michael put on a performance when he was about to cry saying how much the money would mean to him. Anyway both of their mind sets should have changed. They shouldn't have been greedy buggers and should have split the money. I would split the money if it was me!

This show is so good. I was hooked. I hate George Lamb but he was bearable on this.

Loved the ending, I hated Michael and thought Darrah was a bit up himself. So glad the losers won in the end.
