Default Doctor Who Series 6: Discussion: Karen Gillan, Arthur Darvill to leave next series

Doctor Who Series 6
Trailer:

Episode One- The Impossible Astronaut
Synopsis:The Doctor is summoned to assist President Nixon in saving a terrified little girl from a mysterious spaceman.

Episode 2- Day of the Moon

Terrifying aliens have invaded Earth! The Doctor must escape the perfect prison and along with Amy, Rory and River, lead a revolution against them.

Episode 3- Curse of the Black Spot

The Doctor must solve the mystery of the disappearance of a pirate crew.

Episode 4- The Doctor's Wife
The new episode is written by the acclaimed Neil Gaiman, features the brilliant Suranne Jones and has a title that sends the intrigue levels to maximum! It's also got the return of the Ood and a tantalising question: is the Doctor really the last of the Time Lords?

Episode 5-6 The Rebel Flesh/The Almost People

As the solar storm rages, Jennifer, a Ganger driven mad by the memories of being "decommissioned", is seeking revenge, as the time-travelling drama continues.
She can remember every excruciating second of every "execution" and is determined that the humans will pay. And she isn't just talking war; she's talking revolution. As the crumbling factory fills with toxic fumes and drips lethal acid, the "Originals" wait desperately for the shuttle from the Mainland to rescue them. But Jennifer has other ideas. Can the Doctor convince the terrified factory workers to embrace their own humanity and work together with their Gangers to overcome a monster of their own making?

Mid Series Finale: A Good Man Goes to War

The Doctor assembles an army to face the Battle of Demons Run, and the identity of the mysterious River Song is revealed

Matt Smith has described Doctor Who's upcoming sixth series as "harrowing" for the Time Lord and his companions.

Bang Showbiz quotes the 28-year-old actor as saying that the Tardis crew will be facing several very dangerous adventures when the sci-fi drama returns this spring.

"The Doctor and Amy (Karen Gillan) are going to be faced with some really harrowing and seismic choices about their relationship and who they are, and why they are important together," he said.

Smith also promised fans that the new series is to feature a terrifying new enemy who he predicts will rank among The Doctor's most menacing foes.

"I do think we've got one of the greatest monsters, especially during my tenure on the show, but I think in the history of it. It's a real cracker," the star remarked.

Earlier this week, Smith vowed that fans will be satisfied when Professor River Song's (Alex Kingston) true identity is revealed.

Doctor Who returns to BBC One in the UK and BBC America in the US in the spring.

I don't think it will start in May. The series is being split in two, so I think its probable that the mid-series finale will air around that time.
Think Doctor Who Magazine has said it begins at Easter. Which would follow suit to previous series starts.

Well, according to some other forums... the start date has been confirmed as Saturday 23rd April in the States. I presume this will be the same date it airs here in the UK.

Also, both parts of the two-part opener are supposedy going to air on the Saturday AND the Sunday of Easter Weekend.

OMG I hope so! Don't think I'm gonna be able to manage to wait a week for the second part. Apparantly the monsters in the opening two parter are down right terrifying.

Rumors have it, that its

Spoiler:

The Silence

mentioned in the last series.

I am pretty sure that both will air on Easter Weekend too. It's the perfect opportunity, me thinks.

Oh, and a very, very reliable forum member (apparently works for the BBC, whose information has always been correct) on a Doctor Who forum has said to watch out for a brand-new trailer airing on... SORRY, CAN'T DO SPOILER TAGS ...

19th March.

Spoiler:

Steven Moffat has claimed that the opening episode of the upcoming sixth series of Doctor Who is a "belter".

The showrunner revealed on Twitter that he had watched an almost finished version of the episode, which will see Matt Smith and Karen Gillan reprise their roles as the Doctor and Amy Pond.

"In Cardiff and just saw the (very nearly) complete ep 1 of Who," he wrote. "Could be biased but I think it's a belter.

My theory for the death-

Spoiler:

Amy finds somethign out about River so shocking that she shoots her [reffering back to end of trailer] however this causes a time warp, as River has met David Tennant's Doctor, therefore thats how we see tennant's TARDIS.

So excited. Planned my series finale to come out the weekend before in preperation. Heard so many rumours and stuff. Gonna be an awsome weekend.

Nice theory. A massive spoiler about a "twist" in the opening two-parter has been leaked on Digital Spy...

This is a MASSIVE spoiler. Seriously...

Spoiler:

There are two regenerations. One of them isn't the Doctor's.

...Oh, and those people on your thread about your own Doctor Who series are so rude! Just ignore them!

I think, but not sure yet. I know who Amy is, read a wee bit of a leaked script. I'm saying no more.

Thought I would bump this, as it starts tomorrow.

Here are ten teasers about The Impossible Astronaut

1. The rumours are true - one of the lead characters really does die. It's not a trick. And it happens within the first ten minutes.

2. When we first see the Doctor, he's in a… compromising position.

3. For Amy and Rory, it's been a while since the events of A Christmas Carol. And for The Doctor? Possibly even longer.

4. The Doctor gets slapped, again.

5. "The legs, the nose and Mrs. Robinson."

6. Amy reveals a shocking secret, but is keeping another from The Doctor.

7. The Doctor drinks wine, and isn't a fan.

8. "River, make it blue again!"

9. One character makes a Star Trek reference. Several times.

10. "You will tell the Doctor what he **** ****, and what he **** ***** ****."
