Dick Van Dyke, 86, marries makeup artist

Dick Van Dyke's publicist has said the 86-year-old actor is a very happy newlywed.

Publicist Bob Palmer said Van Dyke and 40-year-old makeup artist Arlene Silver were married last week in a small Leap Day ceremony at a Malibu chapel near Van Dyke's home.

Members of Silver's family and some of the star's close friends were on hand for the small service.

Palmer said Van Dyke and Silver became friends about five years ago after meeting at a Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Michelle Triola Marvin, Van Dyke's partner of 30 years, died in October 2009 at age 76.

Palmer said Silver and Van Dyke have much in common, including a love of singing, adding that he has never seen the actor happier.
