A-levels are way too easy, I didn't deserve the grade I got considering the work I put in.

Having pretty much finished my final year at uni, A Levels are nothing compared to this.

Im surprised they don't have to harvard reference in A levels, my daughter was shocked at the jump from GCSE it might be an idea to bring them up...But schools are already struggling to get the pass rates they require for adequate funding so i can't see that happening.
Nearly failing AS was a shocker, couldn't coast along on her ability and had to pull her socks up quick haha.
The first year at uni is easier than A levels loads say that, I agree.

The first year at uni feels easier, but only because you need 40% (3rd) to pass and the marks don't count towards your overall degree. The second year comes as a big shocker when coasting by won't get you the results you need.

There is I think very valid points in what you say. Frankly, this is another policy I can see getting forced membership/activists LibDem re-think on and them all having to discuss it again.

I don't know about Labour dumbing down A Levels, I wouldn't want to support that view because I believe building up those taking A levels should be the norm and not negating the achievements they have done in getting them.

I just mean I wouldn't say only they had, all exams have been mucked about with by Govts of both persuasion, however for me anyway, saying exams have been dumbed down is not good for the young people who have sat them and passed them by putting in the effort needed.
To claim exams are easier paints a negative look on the exams passed by those taking them and casts a cloud on their hard work to pass them.

It actually annoys me that in this day and age the 3 main parties of the UK still use childrens education as a political football, that is really what annoys me as to party politics too, they should leave some things alone and always have consensus on some issues, such as education.

Stop this nonsense of one party getting into power and mucking about with education this way, then the other party getting in and changiing things again another way.Going to and fro like this with peoples education and futures is childish and ridiculous and both the major parties in particular are equally to blame for it,neither is any better than the other.
