I've just realised who Susie is. She's Hyacinth Bucket from Keeping Up Appearances!

When Nikki said Susie wouldn't drink wine because it only cost £10, that cinched it for me.

She's trying so hard to be seen as posh, and doing the things she thinks posh people do, but the truth is she's just a wannabe. Just like Hyacinth, she's desperate to impress, but can't hide her true colors at the end of the day.

Pity she's not as funny as Hyacinth.

You can't "become" posh, you are or you aren't. She may be nouveau riche, but if she is, it's only because she left her husband and abandoned her daughter so she could marry someone with money.
