FremantleMedia UK’s Thames has teamed up with Sebastian Scott-backed Superhero Television to create a sports-based talent show for ITV1.

Let’s Get Gold will pit 15 amateur teams against each other by turning their different sports into 90-second routines.

The teams will hone their routine with the aid of a choreographer and then showcase it in front of a judging panel made up of sports and entertainment stars. The winners will claim a £100,000 prize.

Thames makes ITV1’s biggest talent competitions The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent, and head of entertainment Suzy Lamb will executive produce alongside Scott, who conceived the show. The other exec producers are Lucas Green, Mel Balac and Phil Parsons.

The idea is to uncover some of the UK’s most unique sporting talent and the three-part pre-recorded series will be stripped on ITV1 around the time of the Olympics.

It comprises 2 x 60-minute episodes and a 90-minute final, and will be hosted by . The judging panel has not yet been appointed.

The show was commissioned by ITV director of entertainment and comedy Elaine Bedell and John Kaye Cooper.
