It won't be helped by the coaches sending their best acts out, like Tom did with Adam though.
I still love the series though. |

No surprise its starting to fade now its come to the live show.
Shame cuz I like this show but I think it only has a future as a fill in summer show; like all those kitschy Lord Webber shows. I think the Voice is capable of much more shame the wrong network won the right for it.

I think its very much a lame duck show. To much of the same thing music wise. Songs being sung that are the most boring you could possibly imagine.
Men squeeling like a cat with its tail trodden on.......Others over dramatising and murdering music to get attention. Bland ten a penny talent with no veriety to speak of. Out of the lot there are about two singers that might be around in a years time... |

6pm is way to early, it would be much better at 7-8.

It's been quite unlucky with it's scheduling recently, couple of weeks ago they had to squeeze it in between the FA Cup and BGT final, last week was Champions League final night and now this week they have to have it before Eurovision

Last night's show fell to a new low of 4.5m viewers, beating the previous low of 5.6m earlier in the month. I know the hot weather is affecting ratings across the board at the moment but you have to remember that the BBC spent Ł25m on this show. Not good at all.

Too glam to give a damn

The show was on way too early, everyone was still out in sun having their BBQ enjoying the bliss day. The prospect of stopping that just to watch The Voice, is insane.
To be completely honest I hope we don't get a second series, leave the talent shows to Cowell.

The BBC just have a track record for not being able to do talent shows very well, look at Fame Academy, the Andrew Lloyd Webber shows and now The Voice. They never seem to get it right. People are moaning about the time slot but starting later at around 7.30 or 8 isn't an option for the BBC because they have long running shows like Casualty which are always shown on Saturday evenings. They won't move that to a later or earlier timeslot so The Voice has no option but to be on very early.

Fame Academy was good but it never got amazing ratings and during series 2 when it was up against Pop Idol, the latter always beat it.
Strictly is the anomaly to this trend, it always does well every year for the BBC. It has a loyal fanbase who watch every year and during the last series it even managed to beat XF when they went head to head a few times. Apart from Strictly though every other talent show they've produced has suffered lackluster ratings. |
