Default HELEN/PAUL A BIT SHORT OF MONEY

It was reported in Friday's London Evening Standard that the fragrant Helen Adams is trying to get a part-time job as she and Paul are ' a bit short' after buying a £390,000 'apartment' in North London. Apparently, she walked into a 'posh' salon in the West End and asked, and was given the bum's rush. The salon was quoted as saying ' She wouldn't fit in with the image our clientele wish to project' or some such twaddle.

So the papers say. Must be true, then.

ACTUALLY their 2 bed flat is £224,500

the flat under theirs has just been sold for that much

pauls not stupid or poor so they would not have got into debt
a mortgage company wouldnt give em the cash

paul earns about £75,000 a year so their not short at all

papers assume that cos helens looking for a job that they must need the cash-but she has always said shed go back to salons.

This sounds like the same old story being recycled

I am sure she wouldn't doorstep salons, and after all Hairdressers are pretty poorly paid, she isn't going to make much that way

She would if she set up in business for herself though. She would get a loan, no probs, and me and Peachy would defo top up the blue rinse there.

She still has considerable earning potential.

I agree with cc. They knew about her uncertain tenure when they took on the flat, and whatever mortgage was necessary at that time.

Paul is also not as daft as many people think. He will look after her, because he is a gentleman and a lovely bloke. BHLCS

Ground floor flats are usually cheaper as they pose more of a security threat.

This was the figure rumoured and never confirmed last year. If it was true it would have been based on the contract rates he would have been earning over in Germany. I doubt he would be on that working in this country.

I think H&P's flat is worth much more than the ground floor flat because they have the top two floors. Helen said this, she called it a maisonette-thingy on TV months ago when they were just buying their flat. I think it was reported as costing around £350,000 at the time.

But ROB, what about this scenario.

Helen has lost her job on TV, and there is nothing else so she has had to sign on.

As part of the Job Seekers agreement, she MUST prove she is actively seeking employment. The Rules in recent years have always had a punitive philosphy. All unemployed people are scroungers and worse than (enter villain of the week)

Helen was a trained hairdresser so her idea of actively seeking employment is to pound the streets until you get something, or as Lord Tebbit's father did, got on his bike and looked for work....

The other question is, how much of a bolt of the blue was Lorraines descision to pull the plug.

Maybe P&H ha been lulled into a false sense of security.

Maybe, even though Paul is a gentleman, Helen will get wound up about not pulling her weight and not wish to be a burden anymore on her Paul.

OK Mort is that acceptable - is that enough doubt and anxiety placed in the TIBB posters. Mort how do I stop this voice activated typing ? No Mort Abaddon was just borrowing the coffee he did not say if he had put in an application......QWA Voice Activation End of Session

Lol@ROB

despite being a fan of Paul, you have managed to keep a very good sense of humour.

(that was one of your best 9/10)

Love the cartoon ROB, but I thought the convention was going to be black tie!! I've already arranged to get the diamonds out of hock and to go to the local Oxfam shop for my 'new' evening dress full of sparkle and glitter.

9/10 ????

I'd have given her 11/10 - but then I am a biased buddy who also likes the film 'Local hero'.

By the way ROB I don't think you CAN marry Bonzo [ if you were thinking of saying yes] Apart from OH not being too keen what about your 'loyalty ' to PC ?????

no mortgage company would ever give a mortgage of that much to people who have no real prospect of paying it back

n e way she got 300k from papers etc last year-more than enough for her share

i am cc100s g/f by the way

Sorry Sticks I was only reacting to ROB's cartoon. I was JOKING. From the look of the ROB figure on the cartoon it would mean a trip to the fetish shop not dress hire shop.
