There is a "game" of sorts, on a Survivor/Big Brother US board called Edgic that records how the contestants are portrayed each week/episode and how much airtime they get as well as their character development. It's something done just for fun to look at who was boring and who was entertaining, but also it can help predict who the winner will be sometimes. So I thought it would be fun for us to do here for BBUK.

So basically, you can post your evaulations of the housemates based on the system below, either once after every episode and then average out the scores - or once after every week. Since Week 1 is now over, I thought it would be a good time to post weekly calculations. At the end of the series, we can average everyone's observations about each housemate out out.

Here's how it works.

STEP ONE: RATINGS
This step signifies the housemate's level of airtime and entertainment they bring.

INV - Invisible
A housemate that is seen as irrelevant to any storyline, is rarely featured in episodes, and has very minimal screen time. The housemate is presented as having no complexity. These are your Steve BB11 and Gos BB4 type housemates.

UTR - Under The Radar
A housemate that is underdeveloped and has a low level of complexity. They be be featured in the episodes, but for the most part do not have any significant story lines or scenes revolving around them.

MOTR - Middle of The Road
A housemate that gets a fair amount of airtime and is considered relevant, but is not a major character. They may be involved in many scenes, but usually have just an average or minimal amount of scenes revolved around them.

CP - Complex Personality
A housemate that gets alot of airtime and has a pretty high level of complexity. They usually have a well established "role" in the house and are featured in numerous scenes and usually are involved in story lines. These are usually the housemates that end up winning.

OTT - Over The Top
A housemate that dominates the screen time, with multiple story lines and scenes revolving around them. They are frequently discussed by the other housemates, and are usually portrayed in a highly positive manner or a highly negative manner (marmite housemates). These are usually housemates like Nikki, Charley, and Marcus.

STEP TWO: TONE
This signifies what kind of edit the housemate receives, and if they are portrayed in a positive manner or a negative manner to viewers.

NN - Very negative
N - Negative
M - Mixed, both positive and negatives
P - Positive
PP - Very positive

*NOTE: A tone does not always have to be included if it is not entirely clear whether the housemate is being portrayed negatively or positively, and in this case simply the ranking such as "CP" is appropriate.

STEP THREE: VISABILITY [OPTIONAL]

This step can be optional, but it is basically where you rate a housemate 1-5 in terms of how much airtime they receive and how much they are shown in a week/episode. This is something that usually can vastly change from episode to episode and can be inconsistent at the beginning of the series, so it's optional.

When rating the housemates, it is important to not let your biased-ness get in the way. Just because a certain housemate is your favorite, doesn't mean they are a complex personality portrayed in the show.

So go ahead and post your Week 1 ratings of the BB13 housemates if you like! If you are too lazy, I will be doing it myself each week (and maybe each episode if I feel like it), so you can just check out my observations.

*Benedict was more MOTR at the beginning of the week, but became a very CP the past 4 or so says, therefore I concluded he was more CP than MOTR.
*Luke S and Arron are bordering between CP and MOTR, it was tough to label them.
*The tone for Luke S, Conor, Becky and Caroline are not quite clear for the week. Caroline's tone WAS positive at the beginning of the week, but the past 2 days was bordering on negative. It was too difficult to fully conclude.
