This is something I still don't get from watching Big Brother for such a long time. When someone who is in the house gets hate for playing the game, why is this a negative? I would hope they would all do this. There is $$$ on the line which a lot of them probably need. I know if I were ever on BB I would do anything to win- whatever it takes.

It's not a negative but everyone acts like it is. If you watch Big Brother USA, that's all it is and it's great because the public get no say. You can get the most evil housemates out there and they'll win and be applauded for playing Big Brother. Dr Will is considered the best housemate of all time and all he did was scheme, manipulate and lie the whole way through. In England it's just a popularity contest. That's why you get the whole ''omg she's so fake'' argument a lot, most housemates spend their time trying to pander to the audience who ultimately control their fate and it makes for poor tv most of the time, because the most entertaining housemates always get knocked out quite quickly and you can never tell who is actually being sincere. Sometimes the house can get a bit poisonous and that's when having the public vote is a positive because you get the whole 'underdog prevails' thing a lot because everyone likes to see the weak win.
USUALLY the winner of Big Brother UK is the person who can sit on the fence most effectively, if it's not that person it's the person percieved to be the most 'fun loving and happy go lucky'. Always. Someone like Lydia will never win Big Brother. It's a shame because really, Big Brother is a game and the objective is to win. However the way to win is to be invisible for 50 days and then come out of your shell towards the end with funny shenanigans so the public love you and bish bash bosh you're the winner. That's why the last few weeks of big brother are always dreadful. The only way this will ever change is if we get a housemate is loveabley evil. I mean I would go into the Diary Room and tell all of the public what my plan is. I'd just be like, straight up i'm here to win and i'll do whatever it takes, I hope you enjoy the show I put on. As long as your not nasty or a bully or something, I don't get why it wouldn't work. The problem with Lydia is that she's wanting to play the game but simultaneously trying to pander to the audience by justifying her actions as being anything other than a way to get her further in the game. For instance the way she used Deana as a stumbling block in tonights highlights. That wasn't for whoever she was talking to, that was for the public to hear. But she's stupid and doesn't get that we see you all the time. We see you better than you see yourself so there's no point lying and making up exscuses. RANT OVER SORRY. GOD I would revolutionize Big Brother hahaha Last edited by sofialady; 20-06-2012 at 02:21 AM. |

It doesn't mean anything really. It had meaning at one point, but people just throw it around as a negative attribute to get someone nominated. If you're familiar with BBUS, it's pretty much the same as someone being called a floater. Had a meaning at one point but now it's so overused it's just a generic negative comment.
