Default Do you believe that the UK should make prostitution legal?

I actually don't see that much of a problem with it tbh, afterall they are not harming anyone, of course you'd probably have to put precaution in place so nobody starts spreading any sexual diseases.

Anyway what's your opinion? yes or no?

Yes. It would be a lot safer for the women working in the sex industry.

Yes, to help remove the criminality attached to it currently and also as Livia said to protect the Women involved in it.

Prostitution will always be around whether it be legal or illegal. Far better to legalise it in my opinion, so controls can be put in place for safety for both sex workers and clients, better sexual health, and better controls over monetary issues etc. It could be moved away from residential areas and better conditions would be beneficial I am sure. Of course, there will always be forms of illegal prostitution.

Will legalising it make it more lucrative for the government, taxable etc;? Will their earnings drop considerably? Will their Pimps is it? have to be legalised too? Will their clientele decrease once it's legalised in a 'well they can do it so don't want to do it now attitude', or a fear of them being known? Will young girls be easier led into it, stating well, it's legal now so it must be ok to prostitute themselves? Am I talking a load of no idea shyte here?

I can see pros and cons on this one.

Yes definitely. Its not really that much different to those kinds of girls who go out, let a bloke pay for her drinks all night and then go back to his house. Or those who go on dates and expect the man to pay

In all seriousness though, it would be a lot safer for those who worked as prostitutes. If an adult wants to make money from selling themselves, and someone is willing to pay them for it, then so be it. Who are we to tell them thats wrong?

most girls on the street do it to pay for a drug addiction so i dont think makeing it legal will help them
makeing it legal will probally make it worse

if you call yourself an escort or offer a massage with extras then thats the way most cheat the ilegal bit anyway.

"Sleazy" Is it compared to a one night stand where a human behaves like a dog screwing what ever is available on the spot "now that's real sleaze is it not if you want to apply labels to people.!!!!But it's best not to as we all have different needs and appetites for sex

It should be a human right to have consenting sexual relief. Be it by dating and paying for meals which is a type of prostitution spending money on a date hoping for the natural reward.

Some people are shy. Some are not good looking. Some are just busy businessmen say with no time for a proper relationship but want sexual relief.....All are normal none are sleazy......

Yes it makes sense to legalise it with proper controls for health and the prevention of forced prostitution and trafficing of people for that purpose.....

It should also be taxed to help the economy and pay for delivering health safe gaurds.....

Consenting sex is normal no matter how it is achieved.

It should be legalised. Prostitutes are not always drug users, which I think forms quite a substantial chunk of negative attitudes towards legalising it. It gives prostitutes more rights. I don't know too much about police relationships with prostitutes but I can't imagine it works out too well for prostitutes if they're the victim of crimes as a result of carrying out their own illegal activity, etc... They're essentially forced into being victims twice - they get no help from the law and they get victimised a lot of the time by unscrupulous customers, pimps and so on. Amsterdam does have a few problems relating to prostitution but on the whole it's a much safer environment and the women are better for it.
