Default Westfield Stratford Stabbing(1 Dead,2 Injured)

A stabbing at the Westfield shopping centre in Stratford, east London has left one person dead and two with minor injuries, police say.

A police statement said officers arrived just before 4.30pm after reports of a fight involving a large group of males in "The Street" on the ground floor of the mall.

It said that a man suffering stab wounds, believed to be in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene

He has not yet been formally identified.

The statement added that two other men suffered minor injuries.

One man has been arrested and is helping police with their inquiries.

A statement from the London Ambulance Service said: "We were called just before 4.25pm to reports of a stabbing at Westfield in Stratford and sent two ambulance crews, a responder in a car, an officer and London's Air Ambulance to the scene.

"Sadly, despite extensive efforts to resuscitate him, the patient was pronounced dead at the scene.

"We were also called to Stratford underground station and sent two further ambulance crews and another responder in a car.

"Two male patients were treated at the scene, one of them for stab wounds and a second for minor injuries, and both have been taken to hospital."

Wow.

Sad news.

Am I right or wrong ?

AFAIK, Stratford, in Newham, has one of the highest ethnic minority populations of all the districts in the country, with no particular ethnic group dominating. The local authority is Newham London Borough Council, the second most deprived in England.

https://sites.google.com/site/london...h-pages/newham

Quote:
Newham is one of the most diverse boroughs in London and has been home to numerous gangs and organised firms for decades. They range from the old white working class firms of the south and west parts of the borough such as the “Canning Town Firm" to the numerous Asian gangs concentrated more to the east around East Ham, Green Street and Manor Park and the more recent black and multi-ethnic gangs predominantly located north and north west of the borough in areas such as Stratford and Forest Gate.
The writer seems authorative enough.

I presume that more details of the latest murder will become available shortly.

It's nothing to do with the colour of someone's skin or their race.

I live in a rough area in Liverpool. The main reason someone's race is brought into the policing system is to help identify a criminal, not to stereotype them based on it and as I said all the idiots around my area are white, plenty of them being put behind bars, so this idea that it's only black people who do such things as this is inaccurate and wrong.

As you said, no particular ethnic group in Newham dominates, so your mention of it presumably being between two black people was in very poor taste. This issue has nothing to do with race, skin colour or ethnic groups.

Am I right or wrong about this incident ?

Nobody knows yet ..... therefore you are absolutely incorrect to positively assert that "This issue has nothing to do with race, skin colour or ethnic groups"

..... and please note that I didn't say "only black people who do such things" and I never said "presumably being between two black people" - you are obviously trying to bait me by mis-quoting me with inaccurate assertions .....

Let's not go down the baiting card whenever anybody challenges your posts in the Serious Debates and News Stories Section.

I never said you were wrong but the fact that the offenders' skin colour happens to be black bears neither any relevance nor correlation to the discussion. If it was a racially motivated attack I would see your point but as you yourself have stated very clearly all the offenders were black. My quote to you was to question why you thought their race was in any way, shape or form relevant to the discussion.

Do we know ""the offenders' skin colour" - I don't think so .....

"you yourself have stated very clearly all the offenders were black" - no, I haven't .....

"My quote to you was to question why you thought their race was in any way, shape or form relevant to the discussion"

No, it wasn't .....

It seems that you misquote yourself as well as misquoting me - you can hardly expect me to answer questions that you haven't asked .....

Some of them are clearly black. On topic, my post to you was questioning why you thought it was relevant to ask if they were black. Why does their skin colour actually matter to you?

Emmanuel Oloyede. I have black friends and that's an African name (the surname). Anyway, I quoted your first post. Have a think.

You know what I'm on about. Are you saying that all gangsters are black? Is that what you're saying?

Also, do you actually attempt to answer people's questions or just have a skim and then proceed to post your nonsense?

Is that what you're saying? You keep saying things that I have, allegedly, said, without any evidence whatsoever.

To be honest, I'm not wasting my time debating with someone who thinks his points being challenged - in this section in particular - equates to being agressive and bullying.

The reason I mentioned that Brother Leon quoted your first post was so we had a permanent record of that post in case you had something sneaky up your sleeve.

Anyway, we're scating around the issue at hand. Why did you feel the need to know their skin colour?

Yet again, you have misquoted me - I didn't say "aggressive", I said "blustering" .....

Yes, because having a blustering and bullying aproach to a discussion (as you put it) doesn't equate to being agressive. None of that's even true in my case (i.e. you throwing silly labels around because someone doesn't agree with your ridiculous ideas) but if you really want to go down that line, this is the definition of blustering: loud, aggressive, or indignant talk with little effect. Are you trying to take the topic at hand even more off-topic or have you genuinely never heard of a synonym?

I'm not trying to edge in the last word. I'm just curious as to why you as of yet still haven't answered my question and the chances are you never will. You clearly like skating around issues and don't actually contribute but produce tedium and try and think you have the better of the situation by being extremely pedantic.

In regards to your last paragraph, I have no problem refraining from discussing anything with you in future. In fact, I don't even want to see you. You can bang me onto your ignore list for all I care and you can rest assured that I'll do the same.
