The air seems somehow cleaner in the House today, or at least the language does.

But the housemates are still reeling from the departure of Lea... and no one is taking it worse than Pete.

Luckily, the Brighton boy has got Nikki to look after him now. Well, we say luckily, in fact we don't know what Pete thinks about it. He's not been given much opportunity to breathe since the blonde pounced on the chance to adopt Lea's mantle as his cuddler-in-chief.

But he was able to get a few things of his chest in the Diary Room, and it seems he needs some consoling. "It feels like someone has died," lamented the bongo fan. "I'm not used to Lea not being here. There's a real sense of loss. We all loved her. There's not as much love in the House now."

Lea told Pete she "loved" him before she left, although in what sense she meant it is open to debate. Pete's affection for the departed boobmeister, however, was purely platonic. "She gave me loads of advice about confidence and believing in myself," he explained.

He's clearly upset that Lea's gone, but he needn't feel alone. Nikki has been clinging to him - literally - all day long. While he slept she stroked his face and caressed him. Then when he got up she followed him around and rubbed him at every opportunity.

Has Pete already found himself a new Mum? And how long before this one declares her true feelings for him?

It's nice that Nikki is caring for him, but it's hardly in a mumsy way. Obviously the departure of Lea would be sad for Pete since the two were close and Lea hugged him for ages before she left - it was all a bit sad. But I reckon he'll be fine in a couple of days, especially with Nikki being there firstly, plus with all the changes going on in the house right now he'll hopefully settle in again and feel better eventually!
