For us Brits, who understood it all, yes.
Will have to wait for the reviews to see what the rest of the world thought, but I don't know how anyone could have not loved it. Technically, Beijing was superior, but the warmth and comedy of our ceremony made it better imo.

Beijing's opening ceremony was a bit to serious from what i remember
