M&S - is it right or down - syndrome ? 24.09.12
thank you M&S, my poem i will expose, while watching bbc breakfast, i saw the new advert for Stuart Rose. one lovely mum, with her beautiful son on show, i really hope M&S do well, and sales are huge and glow. i do have a concern, but it is minute, that every company uses this recipe, and copy cat tactics we can not salute. a more-just world, showing there are equal opportunity's, we are all the same, M&S are reaching out to all community's. well done M&S, now on my shopping do i get a deduction, could poetry be your next advert, i personally think Seb White will be taking the next instruction. ( i was watching the morning news this morning and i saw Seb White with his mum talking about the new advert he is in to promote M&S. i just wondered what everyone else thought of it ? will it make M&S sales go through the roof ? i really hope it does.ps - i sent this to M&S and they have given me a life long free shopping with them lol ) |

From what I glean from the OP - yes and the OP thinks it's shoddy marketing by M&S. Why this is a problem / issue for the OP - I have no idea. Far as I'm aware, people with Downs Syndrome are also consumers, same as those who may be deaf, blind, suffer from Aspergers, in wheelchairs etc - I'd say that M&S are showing they welcome everyone - regardless - plus it's good that employment to actors/actresses with Downs syndrome are being given work. Well it is nice to see someone with a disability in an advertising campaign, kudos to them hopefully more companies will follow suit.

The scary thing part is : they eat as well, they drink, they buy presents, they have homes to furnish. god forbid !!!!! If anyone with any form of disability who is able to work, wants to work and is being given work - all helping the Ł1 spin round and generate to the economy - more power to them. I'm delighted to see this. Mind you I've actually seen the new M&S adverts, and though they didn't appeal to me at all: I never even noticed anyone with Downs Syndrome: so if it's true, I'll take that as an absolute positive that nothing seemed out of place in my eyes when I saw the ad. TBF, I don't think no one 'trusted' what you were saying - more that we didn't see it as being anything untoward about it - well, me anyway. Good on his mum for raising it - it worked - and he's a smashing looking wee fella full of smiles. |
